New Rule

Postby vaughanwilliams » Fri Apr 02, 2010 2:14 pm

I have just been advised by the moderator that the reason my last two posts, reference a new hotel in TRNC, were deleted was because they appeared in the wrong section. Apparently, although I can't find it in the rules, any post mentioning the acronym TRNC must be posted in the "Cyprus Problem" section, (hence my posting here).

I have just done a quick "search" of this forum and can find many posts that mention TRNC in many sections other than "Cyprus Problem" strangely not deleted.

My question is: Am I being fobbed off with a load of BS disguised as a little known, arbitrarily enforced, unwritten rule?

Mod please note: This is not a complaint.

P.S. If you don't hear from me again, it's probably because I will have been banned.

Were you trying to advertise these "new hotels"?

Admin have deleted threads based on "Cyprus being Greek" from the General Chat section as well, on the basis that they should have been in CyProb. So they don't operate any favouritism/ double standards. In fact, they tend to bend over backwards to please the Turkish faction (this is not a criticism as it's really just typical GC philoxenia).

Anything which doesn't signify that the "TRNC" is an unrecognised illegal set up should go in CyProb and not General. That seems to be the general rule, as I have noticed.

You hang on in there and don't give up now you hear? We can always find a way protesting. The one that upsets them most is the Turkish flag, shall we start another one?

The Hotel Complex is an illegal development probably being built on stolen GC owned land. In light of this, it should be posted in Cyprus Problem as the development would be hotly contested by ethnically cleansed GC refugees.

You also seemed adamant to depict the "TRNC" as a legitimate state, and the development as a legitimate development. Since those lands are illegally occupied by a foreign power, with no legitimacy whatsoever, you should have done the right thing and posted in Cyprus Problem so that we can have the opportunity to discredit your agenda with no limitations and without offending any sensitive types.

Yes, saw and commented on the OP, can't remember whether it was in Chat or Tourism. It didn't belong there.

The whole thing came across to me as a deliberate and contrived provocation, a provocation to robust debate that would have led to a move to the more appropriate CyProb section anyway, and it also was a provocation to the Mod and to the rest of us, by containing a challenge regarding censorship on CF, so VW can have nothing to complain about if Our Beloved Lana takes up the challenge, one that was red-flagged by himself.

As to matters of bannings. In all my years on CF only one member has received a permanent ban, and that was a former member who was sympathetic to the "greek" cause. Several notable members have received temporary suspensions of a couple of weeks during which time they were asked to reflect on their styles and reactions to moderation. All five or six that come to mind ( :P ) were again members sympathetic to the cause of the CY Republic.

To my knowledge no tissy members or others with Tnucland leanings have ever been sanctioned.

Reh VW .... Post it again in Cyprob.

If your post/s were promoting the “TRNC” then be it known to you that we (the Greek Cypriots) DO NOT appreciate that. In case you’re not aware…

We all ignore the dozy old fart VW anyway, so it doesn't make any difference if his posts are deleted.

......erm .......

Well let's start by giving this area its correct other name, the one by which it is known by its villagers of VOKOLIDA .......

A small and formerly very impoverished village, at the bottom end of the Karpas, one which lies near those tremendously valuable beaches of Famagusta Bay.

Then consider the usual breakdown by ethnicity for Vogolida and well would you believe it? ........ 100% STOLEN.

(For the benefit of English Speakers ... Vogolida is pronounced Vogoliya in the CY)
