Glory and honour to the heroes of EOKA!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes, their vision was honourable!

Good to see that you at least understand your words once someone else has taken the time to explain them to you.

The word and its meaning was understood from the outset.

Only an imbecile would not have understood what I was saying.

Idyllic Warriors = Warriors with an idyllic vision, as in a paper I recently read entitled:

A Covenant with all Mankind: Ronald Reagan’s Idyllic Vision of America in the World

by Justin Garrison

I ask you again, do you read? :D

...in my Cyprus even Turks are in, because they recognise the existence of this State too, as Cypriots. Whatever the roots, this is politics we're talking about (Cyprus Problem). in a Bicommunal society, one has the right to this identity, "Greek", "Cypriot of Greek", or "Greek Cypriot". as Cypriots we are Sovereign, each as Individuals we stand united for this Personal Right. where are the National Assemblies i ask so that Communally we have the opportunity to show Grace? politics is not Race, as Ms. O says, we belong to one; Human.

...and now Bizonal, what about the Romes?

our threat are 90 million, minutes from here, as Greeks the memory of contemporary history does not bode well. but strangely, the subjugation which was mostly ignored in isolation can no longer be snuffed out like a bug, either way. Cyprus can never belong to Turkey (nor to Greece), and with our introduction as an EU member mostly urban dwellers, our "face" in terms of overwhelming majority will not last long. it's just a question of numbers, unless we can identify within ourselves the passion to keep us whole. Cyprus is an island after all, and perfectly suited to be a hub for the socio-economic exchange of population that span three continents. To be free in Cyprus as Cypriots, we must unite for the betterment of our race, as Greeks sharing this universal desire where Individuals in large enough numbers can sustain themselves as Persons.

for the Glory of the Ideal, it is no wonder that ENOSIS and its fighters EOKA were the heros of men, like Castro, who fought against the plunder of their Heritance. we, at the vanguard of socialism must choose to go further in our fight toward Liberty,

ZHTO H ANEXARTITI KYPROS , H MITERA MAS XORA !

...in one of (many) of our Official Languages.

For every one British "hero", how many MBE's, OBEs, Knighthoods etc does the Queen dish out twice a year?

Do you have a problem about citizens being acknowledged for supporting their country even if they don't go all out to attack the enemy directly?

Even those little kids, I've heard about, that used to line up along the streets and throw stones at passing British Jeeps should receive medals. They showed their support for EOKA as best they could! :D

Although I have not received , as yet my medal , I would be one proud Cypriot who . in a small way participated in this noble struggle . At the end of the struggle the organization approached each and every member who had either been in EOKA , ANE or PEKA , to have been a member one would have had to have taken the Oath and have been obedient to his superior , and every one had a superior .
All names were collected along with addresses , I know because I too was enlisted in the lists of those who participated regardless how insignificant ones contribution was.
What pleases me tremendously is that both my self and my brother are living examples that participants were human , respectable and decent , we present to those that have known us for a long time the face of the true Cypriots who rushed to join the struggle of liberation. Over the years living in the UK , I have argued on many occasions that our struggle was not one of terrorism as the British insisted and still insist but one of resistance and dedication . I have often conceited that the goal set was WRONG , Independence would have been my preferred option with hindsight , nevertheless it does nor deflect from the fact that perfectly normal and decent human beings , family orientated and self respecting Cypriots joined in the struggle.

In 1963 when I met my wife her parents reacted unfavourably towards a Cypriot whom they considered a terrorist , her aunts uncles all thought I was the wrong guy , I stood my ground and yes they did accept me and they did accept that no Cypriot was a terrorist but a freedom fighter. At no time did I ignore any anti Cypriot comments but always resisted and always ferociously , I wasn't going to take jibes from anyone.

As most of you know I recently lost my wife with whom I spent almost half a century , she loved Cyprus adored the people and chose our grounds as her last resting place.

Was it EOKA that shot British Police Officers seconded to Cyprus in the late 1950`s early 1960`s?
