Glory and honour to the heroes of EOKA!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The vast majority of the Cypriot people wanted to become part of Greece at the time. That's a fact.

Did you ask them democratically ? The choices that the people were forced to consider were British Rule or Enosis with EOKA not willing to accept any other political arrangement except Enosis. Enosis or Death. The people have not been asked about it.

They were asked in 1950.

Also EOKA fighters have not been elected by the people ... thats my point. Every article can generilise and presents the events according to the authors political viewpoint. Why only a minority backed the coup to overthrow Makarios and achieve ENOSIS? If the majority wanted ENOSIS then the majority would want ENOSIS after 1960. These were a minority terrorists and only a minoriy wanted Enosis.

Mikiko, grow up!

EOKA existed, was well supported by the majority of GCs and their ideal for ENOSIS was purely a way of polarizing most Greek Cypriots behind a campaign to rid Cyprus from British Colonialism!

I'm not happy that you are disgracing the memory of our fallen!

He raises an important point was their a referendum?

There was a referendum, and something like 90% voted in favour for the struggle to remove British Colonialism.

EOKA was a group of 300 Guerrillas supported by some 10,000 in various supporting auxiliaries.

What? Outside Churches? just after a lecture from the old yero papaz?
Yeah right.

What else do you expect you imbecile?

Do you think the GCs could have held an official referendum right under the British Army's nose?

In those days, just about ALL GCs attended Sunday Church, therefore, the only way to get most people's vote was through the Church.

So were all 5 votes counted then? and was there another person re counting to make sure?

I can't remember the true statistics. Something like 200,000 GCs voted.

Says who? where is the evidence?

Say's the GOC! I will look for the link!

VP, we are going to get another 8000 documents from our betragulli and then we can check them to see if they are genuine first before we can come to some conclusion.
