Paphiti - did you get married in the Orthodox Church, by any chance?

I refused to, at my in laws disgust!

I only had a civil wedding.

Also, my parents baptised me in the Greek Orthodox Community of Australia which is not recognized by the Archdiocese. This means that I am not even Orthodox since the Archdiocese considers the Church I was baptised in as 'Schismatic'!

Even though I think you're a moron, I have to admit that you deserve credit for that (assuming it's true)...

The feeling is mutual.

It is also important for me to mention that I would never be allowed to marry in a GO Church, because my baptism is not recognized. In order to marry in an 'official' church, I had to go to bible classes and also be baptised.

There was no way I was going to do that!

Precisely how you and I, who were apparently "brainwashed", have developed the desire, and have the freedom to question everything and come to our own conclusions. Perhaps because of my age I was even more "brainwashed" than you; which may be why I question things to a deeper level.

At least by allowing the GO Church to do what it does best, in its own mysterious way, I at least have avoided teenage pregnancy, drugs, other excesses, the burkha, the hijab, complete male domination etc and have been left intact enough that I can reevaluate Hellenism and see how deep the GO Church's roots extend ...

Stop destroying all value systems because you have let the Turks into your heart, soul and psyche!

As a moron, confessed and proved, you're in no position to pass judgment upon me.

So your animosity for the GO church stems from your parents' poor choice, and what you view as the GO Church's rejection of you? Explains a lot...no need to hate God though.

You are making the very silly assumption that in order to live good, clean and moral lives we must be Christian and not Atheistic.

For your information, many studies seem to indicate that Atheists are generally more altruistic and moral than Christians are. They are more selfless, probably because Christians, to start off with, through the weakness of their character and soul, seek comfort from the omnipotent almighty, salvation, and life everlasting, whereas Atheist tend to appreciate nature and the universe more and tend to live their life to the fullest since they are only given one shot at it.

The Turks have nothing to do with this. Islam, is in the same basket as Christianity. Both are backward and false.

No, my animosity to the GO Church stems from the fact that I have the self esteem and desire to explore and find the truth about science and the universe and feel comfortable in myself to not require any false comfort with death.

Your conclusion seems to be that the only way to go is to continue to try 'brainwash' everyone else in the same way you were!

But I do like April Fools jokes and I like your one about the GO Church functioning as a charity best of all lol!

Such discovery requires more than self esteem and desire - it requires something you desperately lack: an ability to think!
