No.1 A Boiled Egg

Well thought would start with what many would think is the simplest thing in the world to cook, but as with so many things there is a certain art to it. .. and thought this would be of particular help to those lady members who are ill-versed in matters of the kitchen.

You will need one egg, one saucepan and one clock or egg-timer.

1. Place egg in saucepan and cover with water.
2. Bring to boil over a medium heat.
3. Remove saucepan from hob as soon as boil is reached and leave to stand.
4. Start timing, for soft boiled eggs time for three minutes.
5. Drain off water and serve with buttered toast.

YFred, i haven't laughed so hard in a long time, i remembered my cousin in the village, when we were much younger she would swear just like that.

it 's not a Black guy though, i think it's worse, i heard (unless it's to your liking), Dog is the word.

cheers! and eat hearty...

Frozen Oven Chips

Postby bill cobbett » Thu Jun 24, 2010 7:18 pm

As another contribution to help out those female members who are not as qualified in the culinary arts as we'd all like them to be....

Frozen Oven Chips

Well the secret with these is don't ever take them anywhere near an oven.

For perfect results, a nice soft inner with a crunchy outside it's best to shallow fry them.

So shove some bog standard cooking oil in to a frying pan, get the oil nice and hot (which involves turning on the gas, seek help from the nearest male if any problem with this), throw them in and fry until brown on one side, then turn them over and do ditto on other side.

I am glad you raised this Fred from the Dead Bill.

Oven chips I can live without. But the boiled egg info is very useful. I used to be able to boil eggs but lost the recipe.

Strange looking thing. Do you use this before or after boiling the egg?

I am a firm believer in the kitchen being 'A VERY DANGEROUS PLACE' and that implement looks quite dangerous. Could at the very least chip a fingernail with it?
