The Lithuanian member of the European Parliament Justas Vincas Paleckis who is in the TRNC as guest of the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Hasan Bozer visited the TRNC parliament today.
Speaking during the visit, Parliamentary Speaker Bozer said that the Republic’s Assembly had taken on the duty to explain to Mr. Paleckis the just cause of the TC'S

Underlining the importance of relations with the European Parliament and the EU, he complained that the world for years have perceived the Greek Cypriot Side as the rightful side in the Cyprus Problem due to the Turkish Side’s failure to voice itself within the international community.

He said that it was high time; the Turkish Cypriots changed this.
Informing the Lithuanian Euro MP on the unjust embargoes imposed on the TRNC, he said that the continuation of the isolations despite the island’s EU membership was totally unacceptable.

For his part, Mr Paleckis said that he had found the opportunity to learn more about the culture and people of the TRNC during his visit.
Touching upon the Cyprus Problem, he underlined the need for a settlement on the island despite the complications of the issue.
He said that he will be conveying to the European Parliament his observations in the TRNC upon his return to Brussels.
