Thanks YFred - the ultimate question...

I hope the answer goes someway to thawing relations, but as we GCs have removed the Greeks, I hope in time, and I ackowledge it may take some time, you TCs can remove the Turks, particularly when it comes down to laying down your terms, without any thought for the "rights" of Turkey.

Remove the Turks?

... as easily as you discarded the Greeks of thousands of years?

Yeah, keep praying peasants!

We all get what we deserve.

Shame on my compatriots that they lack courage.

The point I am trying to make is as follows:

Any notion of Enosis with Greece is now dead (thank God!), apart from the odd GC cranks on the forum.

However, Viewpoint asked the question: Do GCs understand the TC stance on settlers?

Our dearly departed friend ExpatKiwi said that the TCs would not support any large numbers of Turkish settlers coming to Cyprus, to which Viewpoint thank him for.

Literally a couple weeks later during the negotiations, under orders from Turkey, Talat put forward a demand for the freedom of movement and the right to buy property in a united Cyprus to citizens of Turkey.

The silence in reaction to this development from the TCs was deafening!

If I were you I'd disown the cowards, and throw my lot in fully with Greece.

I am a Cypriot full stop. And anyone calling themselves Greek Cypriot, Turkish Cypriot, Armenian Cypriot etc. is having themselves on. How are we supposed to have a united country with different category of citizens? There should be one and only CYPRIOT. We should stop using the extensions in front of our nationality. Even the government forms have boxes to tick for GC/TC and OTHER. How backwards is that? You're either a Cypriot or your not. Even greater problem is religion. To "GCs" anyone who is not of Greek Orthodox religion is a foreigner or a none Christian. It's about time we denounce the church with any political involvment and live united as ONE CYPRIOT regardless of religion, colour or background and we will be the envy of any nation.
