Omonia fans have an interesting way of winding up the Apoel hooligans...

Omonoia has hooligans of its own, and on many occasions they outnumber and are far more provocative than the Apoel hooligans.

But this goes under the radar, perhaps because they are endorsed by the President.

No one is happy about Football Hooliganism in Cyprus.

Unfortunately, Cypriot Football games are highly emotive, and week in week out, there is hooliganism from rival fans where people are put at risk, hurt, and property is destroyed. The TC fans were in the wrong place at the wrong time, it is as simple as that.

Innocent bystanders are often caught in the middle of this tribal warfare, potentially placing at risk their own safety. When going to Cypriot Football matches, it often helps to not behave or act in a way that is provocative to these hooligans. Even displaying the "trnc" or Turkish Flag is enough provocation to potentially place you in danger.

Important to also note, that when APOEL played Transospor(?) there were many Turkish Flags in the stadium, TC fans were taunting the APOEL fans and the match went ahead with no incident!

You can't blame APOEL for this latest bout of hooliganism. The club is doing everything possible to prevent these hooligans from attending its matches. You can't blame APOEL and its fans, which often number 15,000+, on the deplorable behavior of some 200 idiots.
