This is 2010 not 1960. How about Nazi Germany in 1940? Or facist Italy? How about what the Ottomans did in Cyprus in 1571. Enough already, harking back to the past to excuse continued injustices and provocations today.
The black man was treated appallingly in America in the 1960s. Today Obama is president.

My racism? I don't even support Apoel. In what way am I, or any other non Turkish Cypriot, responsible for the actions of these football hooligans? It's your accusations and stupidity that offend me, not your race.halil wrote: What the hell ''free areas'' police forces doing .... are they incapacitated ?
What ideas do you have for cracking down on football hooliganism, halil? A problem the world over.
Collective punishment of all fans? Innocent as well as the few guilty? Should we turf all football fans out of their homes, and refuse to let them return for decades?
Are u sure that we are expriencies this only at football matches.
No. Let me tell you a few sad facts of life, in the real world.
1. Racism exists, everywhere;
2. Football hooliganism does too, everywhere;
3. It's very difficult to police mindless thugs determined to cause trouble, everywhere;
4. People complain that police should do more to control anti-social behaviour, including the smashing of cars and grafitti, everwhere.
Now let me tell you a few Cypriot home truths.
1. Continued injustice leads to resentment, leads to hatred, leads to racism;
2. Needless provocations - like the giant flag on the mountain - leads to resentment, leads to hatred, leads to racism;
3. Both the above, I can well imagine, leads to some individuals involved in law enforcement to not address mindless racism towards Turkish Cypriots with the same enthusiasm as they might if there wasn't the continued injustice, wasn't the continued provocation.
