Apoel Fans' attack over Turkish Cypriots (again)

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Acikgoz » Tue Mar 30, 2010 1:59 pm

Apoel puts anti-turkish pamphlets on its seats, has major political connections. They actively promote hate.
This as a european football team.
Football violence has trended downward over the last 15 years due to active and responsible management - as recent as a couple of months ago this team's management were complicit in promotiong hate.
They should be banned from playing until their management can stop such violent actions.

Note, not one arrest by the racist police!!

I just read an article in the "Kibris" newspaper about the incident, they seem to have changed tune drastically since UBP took over. It's plain stupid of any TC to go to match where tensions are so high.

Most APOEL fans are Greek nationalists, so if anything they hate my guts for scorning Greece at every opportunity!

I keep telling people that we should use snipers with rubber bullets in stadiums to swiftly squash hooliganism but they all think I’m crazy!

How many places have you seen this written on the walls in the occupied territories?

I think that would actually intensify the atmosphere, the only reason I went to matches in Cyprus was for all the commotion.

In the UK the only thing that seemed to work was when they had cameras to catch the hooligans who committed acts of violence during the game and then printed their photographs in all national newspapers with the request that people who recognised them, to give the police information. This resulted in many arrests, followed by prison sentences in the UK and I'm surprised they don't try it here.

..... And how many TCs believe that?
Can we say the same for GCs. How many on thsi forum believe that Cyprus is Greek.
Let them come forward and say so. Perhaps TCs can do the same to see what proportion is that backward from each community.

Nothing to do with politics or any other agenda...just mindless morons and unfortunately they jump on the football (or a percieved political)bandwagon...Its not just Apoel every team has their own idiots.

BTW OP Yes it should be condemned and the culprits ,if possible, brought to justice and given hefty sentences.

Do your homework mate :) Almost all (if not all) teams are backed up by some form of political movement. If not that then if the teams board is consisted exclusively from people supporting a political movement then one would agree that that football club is aligned with them.
