Svetlana wrote:Well, actually the Romans crucified a Jew, but let's not get bogged down in detail.

Easter commemorates the resurection of Christ, following his crucifiction; the word 'easter' comes from the name of the Anglo Saxon God of Spring (Eastre, I think). We eat eggs because Christians regard them as the seed of life - but I prefer hot X buns!

Jesus wasn't a Jew you stupid woman (well I think your a woman then again judging by your picture you posted you look like an in between ).

Yes Jesus was a Jew at the time.

No he wasn't!

You should change you avtar, as you are not a Greek Orthodox Christian, if you do not know the simple fact that Jesus was a Jew " when the Romans crucified Jesus, they wrote on his cross "Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews" “INRI”

Don't get your history from the T.V. girly! Mary was from the house of "David".

Here is a quote from the Bible (from The Good News Bible).

“Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true. Remember that as long as heaven and earth last, not the least point or the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with–not until the end of things.”

But it should say:-

Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets; I am not come to destroy but to fullfill.

For verily I say unto you, `Till heavan and earth pass one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled.

He did not say `MOSES Law' he said `THE Law'.

This is the original ancient Greek text.

17 μη νομισητε οτι ηλθον καταλυσαι τον νομον η τους προφητας ουκ ηλθον καταλυσαι αλλα πληρωσαι

Translation

"Think not that I am come to disrupt the law or the prophets, I am not come to disrupt but to fullfill."

Throughout history, Christians have always tried to present 'Jesus' as being as 'non Jewish' as possible.

He could hardly have been born and lived as a 'Christian' as people were not known as such until later.

Jesus is on the cross. He calls Peter over. "Pete," he says. "Look after my Easter eggs - I'll be back on Sunday."
