WE ARE ALL THE SAME !

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Religion is the ammunition that unarmed men are given by their religious faith in order to arm themselves and kill each other !!

In the UK, all Cypriots have learned to live and work happily together.

It is unfortunate that for too many years the two main communities, living in Cyprus itself, have become isolated from each other and somewhat estranged.

There have been some joint initiatives of recent years, but these activities need to be stepped up and encouraged.

Why are you supporting segregation, division and the discrimination of Cypriots based on their ethnicity then?

This racist discrimination was imposed since the time of the Ottomans, when the population was divided between Muslims (Turks) with more rights and Christians (Greeks) with much less. 80 years after the end of Ottoman rule you again collaborated with foreign imperialists demanding the partition of Cyprus and you managed to force the racist 1960 agreements which again divided the population on the expense of the majority of Cypriots.

I am the one who supports that all Cypriots should be equal without any kind of racist discrimination and segregation, you support the opposite. So are you a fanatical nationalist?

No,Piratis,YOU are the fanatical nationalist...You are the one who is blaming the TCs of today for the deeds of the Ottomans over 400 years ago...You are the one lying in wait to extract revenge once again from innocent TCs...You are the one who justifies the treachery of Enosis with Greece...You are the one who is still smarting from your lost dream, and still harbour bitterness and hatred for the TCs...

I am for one country one nation, unified with democratic and humanitarian principles. But with people like you around I realise it is impossible....Innocent TCs need protection from the likes of you...You are a wolf in sheeps clothing, and I cannot advocate that anyone put their trust in you unconditionally...I wish I could ... :(

A English lady that I have always admired and respected for her values of life , her loyalty to her husband and her devotion to her children. I first met , here I will use a pseudonym since I do not have her permission to use her real name so I will call her Janet , way back in the late 70s before marrying her devoted husband when the two were courting and they would visit my brothers restaurant. I knew Metin , not his real name , from early 1970 and got on extremely well , two Cypriots one a G/C one a T/C , we naturally argued and debated a great deal but I always liked the man and he reciprocated .
Way back in late November last year Metin and Janet , who have retired in Kyrenia heard about the loss of my wife from Iceman who already knew of my lengthy friendship with them both , they were due to visit London late November and promptly paid me a visit to express their condolences .We talked about cancer and that I in a small way raise tiny sums for Cancer Tulip in Nicosia , promptly Metin gave me a donation , I still haven passed it on but will do so on my next visit.
A few days ago I had an email from Iceman informing me that Metin and Janet were in London in view of Janet being diagnosed with cancer . I was devastated , I somehow thought that my bloody showroom had the jinks !!
I spoke to Metin today , he was with Janet at the Royal Marsden where she was receiving chemotherapy , he naturally was devastated and talking to me and knowing what I went through he felt somehow a little better. We promised to meet early next week subject to Janet's condition.
The moral of the story , two Cypriots , English wives , friends for so many years nothing to divide us and everything to unite us.
Metin , a successful business man has confided in me that he wishes to donate a very serious sum of money to Cancer Tulip ...
I wish Janet my very best wishes with her battle and I promise Metin that I shall always be there for him , I have been through the emotional turmoil and I know the pain and anguish only too well

A very touching and sad real life story,miltiades...Thank you for sharing it with us...You are the living example that empathy and compassion are all we need to overcome ALL of our percieved differences...
Unfortunately those who are incapable of such human emotions (or can only express it for their own "side") will be threatened by such a post and will come out attacking or ridiculing it...They deserve contempt for dismissing your noble sentiments so lightly...
