TRNC PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION COUNTDOWN

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby BirKibrisli » Sat Mar 27, 2010 3:09 am

I agree with Bananiot..Partition is no solution...Partition will set in concrete our ethnicity related problems, past ,present and future...We need a BBF that will allow maximum cooperation and cohabitation ,so that in time the mistrust and suspision will make way to trust, understanding and respect, in turn paving the way for the true unification of our homeland...Cypriots deserve nothing less...One people one nation...Not possible today but not impossible in the future...If we get this interim solution right that is...

This is the only way forward Birkibrisli. There is no other way about it. Some people however, are not happy with the idea of our two people living happy on the island because they want a pure, ethnic island that answers to their sick ethnic aspirations.

Off to Buyuk Han now, to discuss these and other matters. Wish you could come along ...

It will be an absolute pleasure to meet you and Halil and the other compatriots...Do they still make Shamishi in Cyprus? Halil will know what I mean,if you don't...Failing that we might make do with Cyprus coffee and lokmas...

In front of Kapali Carsi, you may wish to try Aysozomenolu Suleyman Dayi's Mahallebi. Can't go wrong.

TALAT CAME TOGETHER WITH PUBLIC IN KYRENIA

President Mehmet Ali Talat was at a public gathering in Girne(Kyrenia) today, as part of his presidential election campaign.

In his address to the public, the President said that the citizens agree on the goal towards integrating with the international world.
Talat explained that the world policy followed by the TC Side has served to change the isolated position of the Turkish cypriots within the international arena.

Touching upon the possibility of issuing of a joint statement on the 30th of March on the lasting meeting ahead of the TRNC presidential elections, he said, whether the joint statement is issued or not, the data of the meeting’s outcome will be saved under the United Nations documents and said those who support the non-solution are disturbed by the possibility of a joint statement which will prove the progress achieved. The President also paid a visit to the Guzelyurt region today as part of the election campaign.

Bananiot wrote:Palio, I did not refer to numerical support. Usually, as you probably know, people with any sense in this corner of the earth, make up the minority, or at best, the silent majority.

GC's who want solution (sadly probably a minority by now) are rooting for Talat, because he is our best hope. Those who do not want solution are secretly (and some openly) praying for Eroglu, just as they did for Denktash some years ago.

Everybody's bending over backwards to help talat, President Christofias, the UN, the US, Turkey, the EU...issue statements for talat, agree to progress for talat...

Everyone seems to have forgotten that the President of this country is also in need of support and right now with all these handouts to talat has left himself politically isolated and with little public support.

While Talat throws his toys out the pram because he was invited with the foreign Minister Kyprianou to visit Hillary

I somehow fail to see what this political amoeba talat has offered so far to the peace process other than citizenship for all Turkish citizens and separate FIR's. Oh yeah....he did manage to trick the UN secretary General to get off on the wrong carpet as well. A reborn Metternich
