TRNC PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION COUNTDOWN

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Bananiot » Mon Apr 19, 2010 7:49 pm

Birkibrisli, some years ago I had some students who had learning difficulties and I was quite upset I could not help them much. One day, Gregoris, noticed that I was upset and he came to me and said in the most polite manner:

-Do not worry sir, but please do not expect too much from us. We are all Kouroupettoi.

I still see Gregoris and I even attended his wedding service. We always have a laugh when we remember his words.

What is known so far, at least to me, is what was brodcast on Greek TV some years ago. He is a former (present?) TMT operative, right winger, conservative and anti Greek. He is reputed to have lost close relatives killed in the 1963 conflict. Does anyone have some reliable info on the man?

While you about it, can we have a profile of Tpap to compare? Cheers!!

we voted out the hard liner and you guys vote one in...:/

That boat has sailed Palio........Both sides are now hardliners......How much has the liberal Chris given away since his term began....Nothing!!

christofias a hard liner? noooo tassos was! and we voted him out of presidency, christofias managed to get more done then tassos did in all his years just after a few months and now ergul will accept nothing but recognised trnc which obviously means talks will fail until the trnc gets rid of ergulul.

Palio, if he was not a hardliner, he would have done everythin he could to get Talat to win knowing that the alternative was Eroglu. He did not lift a finger. Shame on him.

I bet they worked very hard though. Life sometimes is very unfair.

By the way, the Nicosia results surely reflect the will of Turkish Cypriots better than the overall result. We shall struggle on, for peace, friendship, fraternity and brotherhood.

So the solution is to vote in a hard-liner and have another four years of guaranteed stale mate? This has been going on now for more than thirty years. We of all people should surely have the patience to stick it out with 'the best leadership combination'?

Correction 5 years...that boat has sailed forever no more negotiaitons, the trick now is to force the other side to leave the table.

You may have been out of touch for a while zan and not heard. The only concessions were given by the President. ROtating Presidency and 50,000 settlers. The turkish side responded with split FIR's and citizenship for 70 million Turks.

You were expecting a better deal? You will get one when Turkey opens her ports to you and you to her. God help you then.
