You know what they say mate .... never say never .... and nothing is for sure....... and nothing is for ever etc.

...as for what's happened today >>>>>> The fascists and the settlers have really screwed Turkey and put some of you boys in a box of your own making, and you should have seen it coming, and if you'd shown some good will at the talks you wouldn't be in this mess, one with with only one way out......

.....so show us you boys have still got some pollocks and take to the streets, as some of you did a few years ago.

(Mr Unofficial Muhtari E mate, hope you've got some of that tear gas left, oh and some rubber bullets would be nice, don't forget to save one for Freddie's bum)

You are like a blind dear. You have no eye dear. What ever happens and element in Turkey wins. At the moment the fascist in Turkey are winning the power strugle, and you think that is good for you?
Yeah as good as christmass is for turkey mate.
In the next few months the direct trade is going to be passed in the eu, then sure enough as day follows night, the direct flights will follow. roc can stay in limbo for ever.
Mind you I wouldn't put it past Eroglu to turn up at the roc parliment demand his wages and his rights under the 1960 constitution. Now that will be a turn up for the books.

Well guess we would have to ask the new Official Muhktar whether his "election" followed the election rules of the 1960 Constitution.....

Don't get your nickers in a knot,boys...The result was a foregone conclusion...There are 2 possible explanations as far as I am concerned...

ONE ....Turkey does not want a solution, hence she wants to put more pressure on Hristofias to leave the negotiations...The world will blame the GCs,some sanctions will ease, the status quo will continue....

TWO...Turkey does want a solution, realises that Eroglu would be the only person to deliver it...She want to neutralise Eroglu and his right wing supporters,to make sure the referandum goes through according to Turkey's wishes...

I am leaning towards the first conclusion, but I have been wrong before... :)

i dont think christofias will walk away from the talks no matter what happens, hes not stupid he knows what the turks want but he will go to the talks and as we all know they will fail because ergul wont budge on the two state stance and gcs obviously will never accept it..

so we must wait for the tcs to get fed up of him and realise he wont be able to have the trnc recognised no matter how easy he or any of the tc/turks think it will be, until they wake from their wet dream

I say this at the risk of sounding naive but I am really not convinced it was a foregone conclusion. Turkey in the press really was still behind Talat over Eroglu - frustrated with Talat but none the less not a word of support for Eroglu.

I still only see Turkey want's shot of the problem but cannot be seen to walk away if TCs don't want her to walk away.

People are still cynical, they never learn. We live in the land where consiracy theories are always high in the agenda because people do not have the intellect to interprete events. Especially the more complex one. For them things are easy. There are the bad guys and the good guys and you are all bright enough to understand who the good guys are.
