LONDON - Britain is engaged with Turkey in an open, friendly and positive spirit in search of a settlement to the Cyprus problem, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said.
Milibant was replying to a question by CNA on the manner of the consultations between Britain and Turkey in support of the efforts to bring about a solution to the problem of Cyprus, divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion.
''The spirit of our engagement with Turkey is the same as that of our engagement with all our partners, searching for a Cyprus settlement,'' Miliband said, recalling that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited London last week.
''It is open, friendly, engaged, positive. Those are the adjectives I would use to describe the way we engage on that issue. And I think it is important that we say that we have that with all our partners,'' he concluded.
