The natives of Cyprus were/are Greeks!

Nothing has proved otherwise ...

Which is why the Levite is described as born of Cyprus, but a Greek didn't have to be described in this way. The Greeks were/are the natives of Cyprus.

Yes .. but go ahead and post your poor domesticated translation rather than a scholarly faithful translation (mine) :D

For the benefit of our English-speaking friends, please can you translate this word from the New Testament as it was orginally written: Κύπριος

You can't translate a word in isolation! It's meaningless. Have a look at what it is referring to. It's referring to the birth of the Levite!

Sorry. No results found for "Cypriots of Cyprus" in Keyword Search.

Also ZERO results for any mention of "Cypriots".

So Cypriots did not exist from Cyprus or anywhere else! Is that what you would conclude from such searches?

But plenty of references for "Greeks"; and how Greeks are spread everywhere!

How peculiar that this post has escaped a response from GR!...

Perhaps they were referred to as something else like “Cyprian”…

What the f*ck is a Darby's translation?
