Bible Search for Greeks on or anywhere near Cyprus!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Sat Mar 27, 2010 10:05 am

BOF the Greek nation (which includes Cyprus) is no different from any other nation. It has a majority of Greeks and several other minorities.

The only reason that Cyprus is not part of the Greek Republic is that Imperialists like yourself used brute force to keep Cyprus separate and thus isolated and weak, against the will of the vast majority of the Cypriot people, so you could continue to exploit our island. Britain doesn't have "Cyprus Sovereign Bases" in it, does it? We didn't force on you anything. What you did in the UK was your own choice. So why don't you let us choose what to do with our own island?

If the Scottish and the English can be part of the same country, then who are you to tell us that we can't be in the same country with the rest of Greeks when this is what the vast majority of Cypriots wanted? If the Scottish who are so different from the English can be in the same country, then surely the Cypriots can be in the same country with the Athenians, the Cretans and all the other Greeks. Hell, the difference between Cypriots, Cretans, Rhodians and other Greek islanders is far less than even the difference between the Londoners and Liverpudlians!

If there was a referendum in Scotland for the Scottish people to decide if they want to be part of the UK or not, if 80%+ of them voted for one or the other option, wouldn't you respect the will of the vast majority of the population of Scotland?

Don't you think he looks like Get Real!? :D

Fully agree that you don't have to be Greek to be from Cyprus (or Cypriot by nationality). But the majority are Greek and have always been so since records began. Now, let's work towards giving that majority the same rights as everyone else so that they can have their own properties back, and the rest of us can have our country free from tyrannous minorities, just like every other nation!

Obviously Cyprus has non Greek minorities. Athens has non Greek minorities. Paris has non French minorities. Madrid has non Spanish minorities. There is really nothing different with Cyprus in this.

Totally untrue; London and Liverpool have the same Government, identical laws, drive on the same side of the road, have a common national soccer team etc. etc.

You are trying to perpetuate a myth; Cyprus is NOT part of the Greek Nation, as you have previously stated! Cypriots are not Greek, I find it hard to credit someone defending this idea!

There are enough of us that are not Greek from this god forsaken island to disprove the whole theory that Oracle is trying to perpetuate and failing miserably. Sooner people stop replying to her crap posts the sooner she will crawl back into the snake hole she appears from every day.
May Allah help her cause nobody else will?

what Barnabas proves, is that you don't have to be Greek to be Cypriot.

Correct . Grivas was suffering from hellenic paranoia and could not see further than his nose. this is a mental disorder - pshychosis that only doctors can cure...

There are four main symptoms associated with a psychotic episode:

* hallucinations,
* delusions,
* confused and disturbed thoughts, and
* a lack of insight and self-awareness.

Grant, O God, that we may follow the example of your faithful servant Barnabas the Cypriot, who - seeking not his own renown but the well-being of his island, its people and the whole World - gave generously of his life and substance for the relief of the poor and the spread of the Truth. Through his helpful, compassionate nature, help convert any negativity into an optimism that comes from hoping and trusting in You. Amen...

Cyprus is a self ruling Sovereign State, where Law is laid down in Lefkosia not Arthens.

We get out cars from Germany
We get our TVs from japan
We get our mobiles from Korea
We get our tourists from the UK
We get out fast food and trendy coffee houses from the US, and , most importantly, we get our over-arching Legislation from the EU.

I would suggest to you that now there are more inhabitants for who Greek is not their first language (but Turkish/Russian/English/Sinhala) than for who it is.

30 years ago, when there was a threat of further invasion, there was a need to cling to Greece's coatails, but no longer. I do not believe the younger generation feel the same loyalty to Greece and IMO the flags we will see flying over our offices and homes will be those of Cyprus and the EU and no longer Greece.

Seems Cyprus has the same problems as Greece then. :roll:
