There needs to be something which is identifyable to all Cypriots.

Why? Because the Turks object to some elements of the truth?

Hellenism is as much Cypriot as it is Athenian. It will evolve and change naturally, as it has always done.

You are talking about specifically changing it, repackaging it simply because the Turks don't like it.

On the contrary! I think you will find that Turkey would prefer more people like you, because Turkey will just turn around and say that there are 2 peoples on Cyprus, Greek and Turkish.

For me the choice is very simple. I want a Cypriot Cyprus (as it should be) rather than a divided Greek and Turkish Cyprus.

You, it seems want a Greek and Turkish Cyprus.

... what Barnabas proves, is that you don't have to be Greek to be Cypriot.

Maronites, Armenians, Moslems, Jews, as well have roots here as older than the Turks, all Grecophone as Individuals in their public lives. They sustained their identities as Person, despite the subjugation they faced, as this island's dwellers. What mankind has given us with our Freedom is the reponsibility to define Bicommunal as a Principal which can be emulated in other States. Many governing bodies are needed as National Assemblies, each with geographic components (Bizonal) to make up their Consitituency; but one Sovereign State.

in my Cyprus, the Government is transparent to many languages, not just the seven or eight that are Official Languages. and if you may think that's crazy, think futuristically, think about the Information Age.

...please read my manifesto, cheers!

ORACLE : are you related to the Mitford girls by any chance ?

Surprised that with all your academic nounce you resort to using the basest of words when your unable to win your point of view across.

So Cyprus was never part of the ancient greek Dynasty and therefore not Greek.

There are a lot of Greek and Cypriot "settlers" that came to the UK and have their own little colonies and still like to marry within those colonies when possible, that doesnt make Britain a greek colony or island of Greeks.
There are many races living in the UK that go to make up the whole who have arrived there with their own national identities which they celebrate as part of their Ancestry, Italian settlers speaking with a Scottish accent in Edinburgh for instance but all know that they cannot claim the island as being theirs or their ancestors.
People living in the UK born of Cypriot settlers still call themselves Cypriots, but their passport says British. and by birth thats what they are.
When Colonial Rome destroyed the Empire of Colonial Greece they took over 3,000 statues from the Island of Rhodes back to Rome where they were used and integrated into the Roman worship of their Gods and everyday life.
So please explain how you think that Cyprus was any different from any other HEINZ nation on this planet???
