Ottoman Pride: Cyprus is Turkish.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Start from the 2nd world war when the Greek army defeated the Italians only to split into communists and "fascists"followed by civil war and go to 1974 where a select few idiots who supported the coupists quickly turned their guns onto the "bigger" enemy, the Turkish invading army.

Greeks and GC's have always been able to split for lack of unifying enemy and come together when presented with one.

As far as the "bogeyman" enemy that unites us now, there could be nothing better than Turkey. Its big, its got a distant history of oppression and conquest, its got a recent history of invasion and atrocity, its Muslim and its ran by an army.

No one could ever dream of a better enemy than Turkey. Your blood red to the calm sea blue, Turkey is a PR firms' dream when it comes to being the bad guy.

Should Turkey lose its military focus, its expansionist policy and become a place of commerce, tolerance and peace...then you'll surely witness a new civil war grip over Greece and I don't think our cousins in Greece can take one now.

I am dissapointed DT,I was expecting someone to ask for a credible link.
However,it must be dissapointing for you to see this happening on an open forum.

how credible is any link on the net? every one has their own versions and ideas of what has happened in the past, i would say no link on the net is credible, you can see videos and stories of what is happening but how accurate are they? like today how accurate are the news reporters?

you just have the fading memories of the old people which the story changes a little every time it is passed down

for instance today when the few turks died and turkey called it a "KIND OF "GENOCIDE!!! so obviously you can imagine how much they "agsadurated" (totally wrong spelling but i have no idea how to spell it stupid dictionary wont give me the correct :@) the events in 63 and reasons for invading. just as i am sure the gcs did also with some things

well, its never dissapointing to me, I never believed that just because 2 people come fro the same ethnic background that they should follow the govt line on everything.

I think it was Umit that noticed this, that whereas the GC's will spend 50% of their time arguing with TC's and the other 50% arguing with GC's...the TC's will seldom argue with each other.

This to me says 2 things
1) a paranoia that you have a fragile position and spin on things, where no effort is spared to keep the boat from rocking.
2) a discipline in following what the official line is from time to time.

As you know Greeks and GC's are not the easiest people to govern. Where the state is looked at with suspicion in Greece, its looked at with pride and fear in Turkey.

Smoking tobacco does more harm to you than the other. I have never exagerated anything - and yes I do take offence. I am banning myself for a good five minutes from CF. So there.
