Ottoman Pride: Cyprus is Turkish.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Seems the Turkish propaganda has been so successful, it's now completely taboo to link Cyprus with Greece but perfectly acceptable to link Cyprus with Turkey.

And we have the 'Cypriots' to blame for this cowardice ...

So, Oracle you were just pulling the other one.
If the Ottomans ever wanted to 'ethnically cleanse Cyprus of its Greek speaking polulation after 1571, they would surely had done so. The fact that the Greek speaking Cypriots are still a majority speaks for itself.
STOP inciting hatred and feeding the 'Gray Wolves'. We love you all, really.

Start from the 2nd world war when the Greek army defeated the Italians only to split into communists and "fascists"followed by civil war and go to 1974 where a select few idiots who supported the coupists quickly turned their guns onto the "bigger" enemy, the Turkish invading army.

Greeks and GC's have always been able to split for lack of unifying enemy and come together when presented with one.

As far as the "bogeyman" enemy that unites us now, there could be nothing better than Turkey. Its big, its got a distant history of oppression and conquest, its got a recent history of invasion and atrocity, its Muslim and its ran by an army.

No one could ever dream of a better enemy than Turkey. Your blood red to the calm sea blue, Turkey is a PR firms' dream when it comes to being the bad guy.

Should Turkey lose its military focus, its expansionist policy and become a place of commerce, tolerance and peace...then you'll surely witness a new civil war grip over Greece and I don't think our cousins in Greece can take one now.

Says a lot, and confirms my suspicious, that you could have for a moment entertained the possibility of such a stance!

The Ottomans have wanted to do different things to Cyprus at different periods of time! Enslavement by taxation, slave labour, work horses to keep the country going and finally taking what they want from them and ethnic cleansing as much as they could get away with at the time.

The very fact you state it was a matter of if they "wanted to" ethnically cleanse they would have, shows the extent of the power you grant them.

There is no inciting hatred on my part, when half our country is being occupied by Turkish troops and their people! I have every right to demand restoration of Human Rights for my racially segregated people.

Are you seriously saying one should shut up and take it because it is the 'Uber-Ottomans' we are dealing with here?

Without doubt it is such attitudes which have brainwashed some vulnerable GCs into an anti-Hellenic movement.

[Thoroughly ashamed of you for your above post, Deniz!]

Are you, 'enslaved by taxation' Oracle. perhaps you do not pay tax. I dont know. Someone pays for the facilities offered to us, like defence, paying salaries of the people who care for us. Its not free Oracle. Everything has a price. Lice elsewhere in the world, Cypriots have paid their taxes, whether they like it or not. Please do not be ashamed of me, I beg you.  You can be 'ashamed' if you like, but only for the hatred you keep alive. If ALL behaved like you do, there would be no peace in Cyprus; ever!!! I have seen more bloodshed than you can imagine, but I can forgive and move on. If you cannot, I am here to help you.
