Ottoman Pride: Cyprus is Turkish.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Just for the record, is the sisterhood with Greece in the scissors sisters style?

Oh my, how disconcerting to note that this thread has survived the cull, confirming the new notion that a Turkish Cyprus attracts less vehemence than a Greek Cyprus.

Well done all those who have so effectively removed the Hellenic associations previously prevalent in Cyprus!

Congratulations Turks on your successful campaign!

Well Palio, I am not one for demanding threads are locked no matter how uncomfortable a topic might be. But, Yialousa's thread was locked and the reason given was that it was "political". I won't question that reason except if that were the case it could have just been moved to Cy Prob as many others have been moved before. But it wasn't that political (apart from perhaps, it could be argued, the title).

So, the only conclusion I can draw is that people are more happy with Cyprus being described as Turkish than they are with association with "bankrupt" Greece!

What did you and those other anti-Hellenic heroes think would happen when you created a void by denying our Hellenic history?

What did you think the vacuum would be filled by? Who has been attempting this erosion of our history for centuries?

The one who now claims the prize! Turkey!

yeah and some people would call this a pro gc forum that they favour the gcs.... not naming any one.. *williams* who laughed when i said this is not pro gc..

im not saying its pro tc either but they do seem to get away woth posting the tc flag when its not allowed and break rules while Yialousas thread was locked... but then the admin here know your not tc and probably dont mean it like he did. but i still think the non deletion of the many trnc flag posting have not been deleted when its a rule was wrong

when is ay to many people i am from cyprus they say ojh greece i love greece and they think cyprus is greece and have no idea that its been split in two by turks

That’s based on your assumption that Cyprus must be associated with something! It’s a psychological thing that pseudo Cypriots have…

The void is in your brain Oracle because you're unable to determine where Greek history starts, where it stops, where mythology begins, and how the Greek fetta salad was invented!

Sorry GR! but there is no difference between my Greek half and a Cypriot half other than like the difference between Athenians and Spartans

From this some might infer there was a hugely destructive Peloponnesian War going on in your head.

On the contrary, the Peloponnesian wars led to a resurrection for the Greeks. Greeks fighting Greeks; so often repeated. Jostling for supremacy and refining democracy. There are parallels with how the likes of GR! feel towards Greece at the moment. But, like the Spartans came together with the Athenians to fight a common enemy (earlier and later Persian wars), so too, when the time is right and in a suitable manner for today, we can rely on Greece (the bigger Hellenic state) to help Cyprus (the smaller Hellenic state). The Turks know this and that's why they want to destroy our Hellenic identity and leave us nameless, helpless -- Turkish!

But poor Greek Cypriots hesitated, and faced the further onslaught from the redefined and more powerful Uber-Ottomans, the Turks! Streamlined, they worked from within. Leaving their cuckoo eggs in Cyprus, calling themselves Turkish Cypriots, momentarily endearing themselves as "Cypriots". Just long enough for the Turks to come and whip the rug from under the Greek Cypriots' feet.

The last vestiges of subjugated Greeks are in Cyprus. Have they been eliminated already?
