Those that preach "Hellenic Pride" and "Cyprus Is Greek" have the shortcomings, because it seems that you want Greece's shadow and also Turkey's shadow over Cyprus forever.

In my humble opinion i think it's all this that has caused 99% of our problems to the day I'd never claim to be well read or have any experience since i never really got into it but from everything that i HAVE read i believe and support that Cyprus is Cypriot. Not Greek Cypriot, not Turkish Cypriot, not Greek. It's plain simply Cypriot. BUT and thats a huge BUT, i will respect other's opinions. If they want to believe Cyprus is Greek, good for them, even though i'd prefer they'd leave the island and go to their "motherland", since we could do with less of the indoor fighting here

If you people think that YiaLoser's thread was "academic" then I pity you all.

Pity yourself because Yialousa started a thread with a title (succinct due to space limitations) and the rest of us embarked on exchanging information to define his proposal. There was no way of knowing which way the thread was going to go and what benefits we may have derived from discussing Hellenic Pride and Cyprus being Greek (something many of our leaders recognise as true in many respects; language, religion, ethnicity of the majority, to name but a few).

And make no mistake about it, once the island is Turkified over time, there will be no turning back.

It's turkified already if people are denying its cultural, historical and demographic realities.

So, you accept the use of TRNC or Turkish Land or proposals for Greek bases on Cyprus and yet you endorse the locking of Yialousa's thread.
