Two thousand illegal workers were deported. Turkish Cypriot daily Halki Sesi newspaper reports that mass deportations have been carried out.
A senior official told the paper that as a result of the investigations they carried out during the four months after the completion of the deadline provided for in the law for forgiving those illegal workers who were registered, they have deported two thousand illegal workers from the occupied areas of Cyprus.
