I dunno Palio, to me logically, kissing doesn't have such a profound adverse effect on society.
To me, chopping off another human beings hands for stealing a loaf of bread and destroying his ability to work and provide for his family, stoning a young girl to death for allegedly looking at a 'Kafir' (non-believer), beheadings etc etc is some of the vilest, cruelest anti human behavior one can administer as punishment. It goes against everything it means to be a civilized human being. Our capacity for compassion, forgiveness and reconciliation with our fellow human beings is what seperates us from the animals.
