He could have been decapitated with such forces on his neck. If he wasn't wearing his seat belt, then he would have smashed his whole body into the side of the car that struck the solid object, which would have resulted fatality more than likely. Question is, what made him skid sideways.??

Answer is: His inability to appreciate that he wasn't as "cool" a driver as he thought he was.

Perhaps, or he may have hit a patch of oil or gravel on the road that would have caused him to get out of control.!

Losing control of a car through "unforseen" circumstances is not an excuse.

As a driver you must always drive at a speed which will allow you to stop and/or take avoiding action, WHATEVER the circumstances.
When driving past cars parked at the kerb there is ALWAYS a child waiting to run out in front of you.
When driving behind the car in front it is only a matter of time before he stops quicker than you can.
When driving around a blind bend there is ALWAYS a car coming in the opposite direction on the wrong side.
And so on.

If we all drove with the above, and more, in mind we could avoid most "accidents".

I see that the driving instructions are still fresh in your head.!

Obviously many accidents do occur caused by "unforeseen circumstances".!

Some are much better dealing with them than others, which comes with experience, much like anything else in life, really.!

The standards of driving in Cyprus are horrendous. My apartment is about 50 metres away from the ENAERIOS Cafes where all the young and not so young drivers congregate nightly mainly to ...show off to the young and not so young smoking like chimneys ladies. They rev the engines of their cars or motor bikes some reaching almost 100 miles per hour , they are fucking lunatics that ought to be kept on a leash , instead these crummy fools are let loose on the roads risking everyone's life.
When will they learn that a car is a dangerous object in the hands of a lunatic !!

I've been deciding on an avatar for some time and thought this was apt.

On a serious note, I think they should only permit drivers of a certain age to oride donkeys - at the first sign of danger, at least the donkey has the good sence to stop.
