How many TCs lived outside the protection of the enclaves ?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

How many TCs lived outside the protection of the enclaves ?

From the other thread......

GreekForumer wrote:
A quick recap of the argument........

Miltiades said "How many T/Cs were killed in the so called massacre that was NOT taking place 6 years prior to the Turkish invasion."

only me said "very few Turkish Cypriots died in those six years ......happy miltiades ? WHY because they where in enclaves covering 3% of the Ilsland "

VP said "TCs did not die prior to 1974 which is one of your best selling points only because we were in enclaves and under protection, what have you go to say about this important point?"

GreekForumer said "What percentage of all TCs were in enclaves ?And of those TCs outside of the enclaves, what violence did they experience from 1967 - 1974?"

VP said "The majority either lived in TC villages or enclaves the fact of the matter was that these people were discriminated against persecuted and treated differently to Gcs, they were considered second class citizens. "

Do you see the problem with the TC argument VP ?

Very few TCs were killed in the previous 6 years before 1974 because they were protected in enclaves. So it follows, the TCs who did not live in enclaves must have been attacked and killed because they were unprotected.

So we must answer the decisive question.

"How many TCs lived outside the protection of the enclaves and how many of those were killed?"

I don't think any of the TCs in our village went into enclaves and none were harmed!

By way of an anecdotal contribution.... my mother's old village, up near the top end of the Karpas was mixed 50/50, with no one withdrawing in to enclaves, but guess the top end of the Karpas wasn't terribly strategically important, a bit of a back water, with over a 1,000 souls. The number killed?...... erm ..........0.

Just another anecdotal contribution, second hand at that. I know a Turkish Cypriot who was originally from a village in Larnaca region. Apparently there were only two Turkish Cypriot families in that particular village. When following the ethnic conflict of 1963/4 Turkish Cypriots started to move to the enclaves, the Greek Cypriots in the village implored both families to stay promising that no harm would ever come to them. His family moved and the other family stayed. Guess what? The head of the family that stayed was killed - admittedly on the road from Larnaca to the village, rather than in the village itself. So, not all such stories have happy ends.

By whom was he killed, the TMT??? this would haver been a perfect example to the other TCs, don't you think???

If you have evidence it was the GC side, lets see it, otherwise its all conjecture.

As I said, this is purely anecdotal evidence that was received second hand and passed on as such. Do you have no basic human feeling of compassion that permits you to feel sympathy for a family whose breadwinner was murdered?

Tim, did this happen during the time Turkey was bombing and Napalming GC villages, in 1964, by any chance?

(Not excusing the killing if it was politically motivated, but as B25 pointed out, the TCs who remained outside the enclaves were in more danger from the TMT than from GCs, as UN records confirm).

Tim, I was not belittling the killing of this man, and I don't condone it. I was merely point out that he coud have easily been killed by his own to make a point. This was in contrast your implication that since he had stay it MUST have been the GCs that killed him. i just questioned you on that front.
Hope that clears that up.
