Tim, does your link work?

I am afraid I have tried the video at the CyBC web site and, as you say, it keeps stopping early in the first peice. Must be broken. I saw the actual programme last night, that's why I know about it. I believe one of the interveiwees spoke about the TC who was mukhtar in the early 1960's, so that was probably your grandfather. Maybe somebody in London tapes these things?

I doubt it Tim. People my age a far gone. The younger generation have been broken off from Cyprus too long to care. There may be someone in Ay. Sergios who may have recorded it.

Sorry to disappoint Oracle. It is a real Turkish word straight from Kutadgu Bilig.
