Applying to the “IPC” is collaboration with the invader!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It is exactly because the RoC knows it has been denying TC rights and in order to avoid having the ECHR impose a solution like the IPC on it that it settled the Sofi case days before it was to be heard by the ECHR, paying her 100's of thousands of euros in compensation for having denied her rights.

Maybe it has....maybe it hasn't. There is a procedure in place for the TC's to claim their property back. Now let's wait and see how long this IPC scam will last.

Rather twisted an idea you have to call having to go to courts and claim your land back a procedure. A procedure is what TRNC has put in place, no need for lawyers, just fill in the form. I wish such a thing was available in the south for us. What a criminal world we live in, yet another avenue for GCs to get their land back but none for us.
Interesting times we live in.

It's not really another avenue to get land back YFred. Somebody else will decide what people can get back and what not. If you ask me personally there shouldn't be any procedures in place in the first place. All have a right to their lands.....being it GC's or TC's with the basic human right of freedom of movement. The GC's never agreed with the exchange scam Donktosh set up for the TC's. We'll see how long this so called IPC scam will last. Everybody knows they will be offering peanuts after this ECHR decision.

I've seen this. Lot's of cases were people needed the money for some kind of reason and got send of with peanuts. I wonder why about 30% of the cases were withdrawn. Do you have an explanation for that?

I don't have any idea. Owners can decide if it is peanut or not . If he/she didn't satisfy with offer he will apply to ECHR later on .

Yes some of them might need money, some of them might think why shouldn't i get benefit of my property while i am in world .Why shouldn't invest this money for my children's future. How long will take to solve Cyprus problem..... do i have that much time to see it. these are the some questions which my friends were asking at our come together.

have look what my Simotro says ....He wants to sell one plot of his land around Limassol and get TC titled land around Geunyeli or Nicosia area for his kids. Those people are may be thinking same ways as well.

as i said one of my GC friend went to IPC office for his one plot of land and he says he will be happy if he gets 200000 Euro for it .Than he can use this one for his daughter business.

lots of reasones for people .....

Property issue to be resolved in negotiations not in court

above words are words of the Christofias.............

http://www.cyprus-mail.com/cyprus/prope ... t/20100310

THE PROPERTY issue will be resolved at the negotiating table and not in the courts, President Demetris Christofias said yesterday, commenting on the European Court of Human Rights’ recent decision to recognise the property commission in the occupied north.

But only yesterday some of the forum GC stalwarts were saying it was GOOD NEWS?

As for the waiting game. Well, the answer to that is for both sides to come to an acceptable solution isn't it?

If either one (or both) of them will not accept that there will have to be some 'compromise' and that things can never go back in time to be exactly as they were pre 1974 (neither in the North, nor the South), that solution will always elude them.

And it does seem as if it is being said that if the GCs do not want to use the IPC they can instead wait for this elusive 'solution'.

Something's gotta give. Sometime, surely?

It's called whistling in the Dark.
It doesn't work.

354,000 sterling for a HALF share in the plot + 295,000 sterling compensation for loss of use for this HALF share. Well over 1/2 million sterling in total.

Sure you do not need to read any more. After 30+ years of NOTHING, GC can get this sort of redress if they want , with minimal cost and delay and with nothing binding on them if they do not want.

And you think this is a bad thing ? You would prefer to go back to the option where they can get nothing again, with no choice at all ?

That is peanuts for that amount of land!! In Limassol you can barely buy two plots (1000sq. meters) for that amount! Such sales are forced sales. The Turks illegally occupy our properties and then when we really need the money they come and give us some peanuts because it is better than nothing! Criminal crooks!
