PLEASE MAKE DONATIONS SO 44 CAN KEEP GOING

Where does my money go?

To website and forum hosting (server, firewall and bandwidth), forum improvements (maintenance and programming) and content creation.

Even though Cyprus44 receives £8000 funding on a yearly basis, our running costs are higher this year.

Our yearly costs are roughly as follows:
Dedicated server hosting with MS SQL database engine ~ £4000
We had to install a good firewall due to computer attacks ~ £5000
Bandwidth charges ~ £1000
Maintenance, backups and coding ~ £2000
Content creation ~ £1000
TOTAL: £13000
How much money are you hoping to raise?

Our yearly expenses cost £13000.
We receive £5000 from advertisers.
We receive £3000 from supporting companies by Izzet and friends.
We plan to raise the remaining £5000 through donations and other fundraising activities.
How do I donate?

You can easily donate via PayPal using any major credit card.
Please send your donations to [email protected].
What can I do to help you spread the word?

Please tell your friends and family. Ask them if they use Cyprus44...
What if I don't want to appear on the Donors List?

Let us know by email, and we'll show your contribution as "Anonymous".
How can I contact you?

Our email address is: [email protected]

Sorry, for as long as the following rule remains in place, this site will never have my support.

5. Freedom of Speech
We respect every member's right to post his/her opinions, on all issues except ones questioning the legality of TRNC.

It is eerily reminsicent of the provision in the new Turkish Penal Code that makes it an offence simply to express the view that the north of Cyprus is under occupation. Freedom of speech?

In the past before the Internet existed, BBS sysops on the Fidonet used to charge an annual membership fee of around $30 p/year and that helped a lot towards keeping a BBS running.

Why don’t today’s forums do the same? I’m sure the CF would easily collect 500+ paid memberships… that’s €15,000!!!

That’s a brand new car for you Admin!

As for keeping the C44 running… forget it! It’s a load of rubbish! If anything, they should PAY members damages for all the misinformation they’ve been propagating!

Yesterday, i was stopped by the Police for speeding - I so ashamed, I am humilated, I will never be able to show myself in Society again....

.....you see I was driving my 15 year old clunkermobile, not my luxury limo, not my sporty little number... I have to get caught in an old wreck car - what will the neighbours say ?

:-(

It does not cost that much to run a web site.

Furthermore, I believe this thread contravenes the CF rules!

No advertisements or affiliate links - Do not place your advertisements through the discussion forums. This will be considered SPAM and could result in the loss of your Cyprus-Forum Membership. Affiliate links are not allowed within the forums.

Admin should DELETE this thread as it is promoting fund raising activities of a rival forum and also promoting that forum's illegal activities!

Thank your lucky stars you weren't wearing your house slippers and hair-curlers at the time! :D
