Was the Cyprus Agreement a de facto Hung Parliament?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Was the Cyprus Agreement a de facto Hung Parliament?

Postby Oracle » Sat Mar 06, 2010 10:00 pm

With panic ensuing at the prospect of a Hung Parliament in the UK, after the next election; I was wondering what the differences are between a "Hung parliament" and the Constitution imposed on Cyprus in 1960 which gave two groups enough powers each, to potentially render all decisions impotent.

Was this the aim of GB? To leave Cyprus effectively and eternally with a Hung Parliament?

Because a democratic hung parliament is one thing, and a bunch of gypsies with undemocratic privileges intentionally hanging EVERY parliamentary issue to appease Turkey is quite another!

So the problem is the often seen (on this forum) “parallels” that aren’t parallel!

Well, "parliament" is meant to be the place where legislations are assembled. :?

But, the Brits left us with somewhere in which to "talk" with the TCs, in order to help 'govern' the country!

But, the end result is the same!

Except in the UK, a Hung Parliament is temporary, but in Cyprus it was set up to be permanent!
