I think Iran probably sees itself as next in line.

As for Turkey, yes they are a cowardly bully because curiously you never hear them violating Russian airspace.

Nobody violates Russian airspace!!!

If the Turks tried, they would get their ass kicked sky high so bullying the weaker countries is just about all they do. It takes balls to go against the Russians, balls which the Turks don't have.

As for the Iranians, these guys are begging for trouble. The latest I heard from an Iranian friend of mine was that Iran wants to become the Great Persian Empire that once was some 2,500 years ago. Good luck with that dream...

Georgios

You mean like what happened in Chechenistan, which is why they are still fighting or similar to Afghanistan where a bunch of herdsmen kicked their ass and had to withdraw like bitch on heat with her tail between her legs. If there was a dispute between the Ruski and the Turks I have no doubt that they would get the same treatment . Instead the wily rusky has more sense in one toenail that the whole of the greek community and realise the importance of talk and trade and have been doing both since the second world war. I think you may be surprised to find out that is the reason why the Turks and the Ruskies get along well to the benefit of both.
Now what was that about Turks being scared? you really have not learned a thing since 1963. I seem to remember a discussion with one of my GC friends in 74, telling me the reason why the Turks kept coming at them was that they were high on drugs. Yeah right and pigs will fly too. Let’s face it the Turks are one of the few races who pride their warlike characteristics. You can kid yourselves all you like, Turkey thinks they have a share in the med and have the force and the backing to take it. If you make the same mistake as the Greeks of the seventies like them you will get hold of as much Gas and Oil as they did. There are two choices in life. Either you learn from your mistakes or you pay for it. Take your pick boys and girl.

My point exactly. Keep on bullying around thinking you are the bosses of Mediterranean... you'll get your ass kicked by the coalition of civilized world forces and go back to warming the eggs again for another 500 years.

Believe it! Bullying does not pay anymore! This is year 2010 not 1572. Saddam had the same characteristics and... look what happen to him!. I suggest this; Become civilized and get with the program, you don't scare anybody anymore, tough guy.

The clutches of the Turks... hmmm

Do you know why the Austrian flag has lots red on it? Read below...

The Battle of Zenta or Battle of Senta, fought on 11 September 1697 just south of Zenta, (the modern Senta, Serbia), on the east side of the Tisza river, was a major engagement in the Great Turkish War (1683–1699) and one of the most decisive defeats in Ottoman history. In a surprise attack, Habsburg Imperial forces routed the Ottoman army which was in the process of crossing the river. At the cost of a few hundred losses, the assailants inflicted 30,000 casualties on the Ottomans, dispersed the remainder and captured the Ottoman treasure.

The Austrian warriors came back and used their bloody clothes as their new flag...

Keep it up bullies... another slaughter is coming... history will repeat itself!

The fanatical GC mindset works in strange ways,Yfred...They will never learn their lesson...They don't even know what the lesson should be...Here is a little summary...1950: Enosis is our right,we want our homeland to join Greece...Tough luck if anybody objects...
1960: We will sign this agreement to get the Brits out...Then we will violate it as soon as we can and go for Enosis anyway...1963: We will drive the TCs out of government, squeeze them hard physically and economically till they leave Cyprus, and we will say it was all the TMT's fault...
1974: This isn't working fast enough, lets stage a coup and declare Enosis now...Oops..What right of intervention??? which treaty of guarantee???Turkey?? which Turkey??? It is not Easter yet...

Now: We will have nothing else but democracy and human rights and EU principles, hence sideline the TCs,and have backdoor Enosis with Greece via EU...Turkey??? Killers,rapists,murderers...TCs? Cyprus Turks...worse than the real Turks!!!They must all perish...

Does it look as if the fanatical nationalist GC will ever learn anything,Yfred...??? Bring on the Islamic Republic of Turkey,I should say...But I can't bring myself to wish that on even the fanatical nationalist GCs,let alone the decent, honourable GCs,and lets not forget there are many of them...

Bir,

Turkey's actions are not only about Cyprus. I am referring to all of Turkey's neighboring countries. The issue is much bigger than the Cyprus problem which is "small potatoes" for Turkey. I am not accusing Turkish Cypriots for bullying (both communities had their share of that).

I truly believe Turkey is in a lot of trouble. Too many enemies, too many grievances, too many fronts to fight. Something is bound to happen. I don't worry about it, but you should be. Turkey is your motherland, not mine.

Do you think Turkey is on the right track? Do you think Turkey is helping your cause? I think not.

Using CAPS is considered shouting. I never use caps, no need to.

But who asked you to keep coming to Cyprus uninvited?

Isn’t that the UNDERLYING GRIPE of the indigenous Cypriots?

Can’t you see they don’t want you here? Are you stupid?

Why does Turkey keep dropping off her people here if not to annihilate the indigenous Cypriots?

Hasn’t she caused enough problems for the Cypriots already?

Has a Cypriot ever gone to Turkey to bother them?

For the indigenous Cypriots the “Cyprus Problem” is not something that began in 1950, but something that has been ONGOING for centuries! Had Turks STAYED PUT on their territory would there ever have been a “Cyprus Problem”?

You see… IF AND WHEN you’re prepared to take the ENTIRE relationship of these two neighboring countries into serious consideration you’ll be able to see the source of the problem.

And if the Ottomans had not captures Cyprus in 1571 who knows what would have happened to the "indigenous" people of Cyprus...?
And if the Greeks stayed in Greece and never ventured into Cyprus you wouldn't be craving for Enosis the way you did in the 50s...And if the dinosaurs had not become extinct the mammals that turned into homosapiens might not have survived...
If your mother and father did not come together on the ocassion that they did,you would not be here polluting this Forum with your stupid historical revisionism...And if the meteor which hit the earth was a little bigger then none of us would be here to listen to your racist drivel....And if ...and if...and if...

Georgios100

Well I'll tell you what George, if you can free us from the clutches of the Turks, we shall be forever thankful to you, you know what I mean?

it is the shackles these nations have made
being "greek" or "turk", such romantic pictures
tits in bags and seas overrun with blood
plunderers always have an allure.

no one can deny the wrongful acts
that have sullied us, an Ignorance resists
and yet the hope from some birth this bloody
there is some perfection that is stronger and able
growing. blahblahbalh : turkey has an Islamic revolution
going on, (perhaps a Moslem face that is Occidental)

i hope its government, with the Army
in disarray can break the stagnation; toward Kemal's dream
as Turks, like the French; European.

yOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT BULLYING STILL,GEORGIO...???

Whatever happened to your question now arsehole?

"yOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT BULLYING STILL,GEORGIO...???"

Changed direction yet again? Turkish goofball!
