I remember when in 1995 they knocked Greece out of the Euro 1996 qualification with a 1-0 win...bastards! :-D Now that Greece have been European champions and are currently ranked 10th in the world, you ought to be rightly proud!! :-D

We were on the downward slide in the 1990s - you should have seen us in the 1970s. We actually thought we were going to win the World Cup in 1978 (reality soon set in  )! These days we'd consider Greece to be a tough draw......how times change!

Greece has got Scotland covered these days, on account of one of our favourite sons having been planted in Scottish football as a mole; the 1995 catastrophe will not soon be repeated! :-D

There's something to be said for being hopeless and not qualifying too...can you imagine the ball of lead in every Greek football fan's stomach that the '94 debacle is not repeated this year? In the months after they won the euro tournament, Greece lost a world cup qualifier to Albania, and the european champion eventually failed to qualify for the next world cup!

The 3-1 drubbing at the hands of the mighty Peruvians must've been a real wake up call :-D

We Scots dream of getting to the world cup and the (in)glorious failure that inevitably follows!

You Greeks are not expecting a world cup miracle this summer then? You'll have my support - don't let me down!

The bookmakers were offering fixed-price odds of over 150-1 on Greece to win the tournament in 2004, do you suppose any us had enough faith to wager anything?
