You remember those wooden park-like benches around the dockyard? That was our home, and the bins were our fridge! We got the full enosis deal… with Greek dockyard garbage! The Greeks didn’t even give us a plate of food for the month that we were there and if it wasn’t for the Red Cross to help us out of that miserable place we’d probably still be there!

But I am also told how Cypriots use to make fun of the refugees in tent city, and how some of them even lined up for handouts of UN Blankets and things.
