cyprus in the schengen zone

can anyone on the forum inform me on when Cyprus is due to join the schengen zone.

Unlikely for a long time imho. Suspect the EU would consider the ceasefire line to be a pretty leaky one.

why shouldn't they.for a country that has the euro as it currency,i believe that being the schengen zone will promote tourism in Cyprus

Nissi, welcome to CF, but look at a situation where one-third of the Island is under the illegal occupation of a foreign army that has ( amongst other things) imported tens of thousands of illegal settlers.
If you were the EU, would you allow CY in to Schengen???????
