Well hardly surprising comment coming from a turks, oops cypriot!

If anyone is the perv I think it is you grandad.

You only have to look at you pots to the female posters to see the innuendos. It is in every post, I suppose one can hope.

I am making palio aware of the trap being set for him, they just want to flood is young mind with your BS.

Anyway, save if for some other young kid, cos I know you're gonna respond, but I do respect your age so I'll let you have the last word.

The US has a veto on UN security council resolutions, and does not subject itself to international courts. Does this mean that by definition it is incapable of committing war crimes?

Epiktitos wrote:So I ask you again: do you believe that the My Lai Massacre occurred, and serves as an example of a war crime committed by the US military, or do you not?

Paphitis wrote:Yes! It is not a war crime that you can attribute to the nation.

If you're bending the rules of logic and/or the English language in order to confuse me, I bow down to your superior debating tactics, for it has worked.

As an abstract entity, a "nation" is not directly capable of committing a war crime, only individuals are capable, from the President right down to the grunt in the field. When the apparatus of a nation train soldiers, give them weapons and ammunition, put a flag patch on their uniforms, and send them overseas, that nation is solely responsible for their actions. Your view explains why you can't understand why as a young smartass in a country town you got your ass kicked by the police. To you I recommend this video, which is full of helpful tips:

It is not a war crime when a single US Army unit acts outside its own chain of command, and when the US Army has taken action to court martial all involved, meaning that the US did not condone this act of barbarism.

And being a member of the Security Council does not absolve the US from allegations of War Crimes against the Geneva Convention. I believe it is the International Criminal Court! So provide a link of a solitary case where the US has been tried and convicted by the ICC.

And once again, how can you deem the US a criminal nation because one unit acted outside the US Army's rules of engagement and without sanction from the US President and its people?

You are misinterpreting ALL my posts.

So again, I ask you.

What does this have to do with the original supposition of treating American Cypriots like shit because they hail from a "criminal" nation?

Now, I will leave you with one of my favourite sayings!

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Analyse it, for no nation and no man is incapable of acts of cruelty and barbarism! You are talking about the internal conflict within man between morality and barbarism under very extreme circumstances!

But condemning a nation for War Crimes is quite above your very simplistic ideals and opinions!
