Erdogan: ‘don’t doubt our sincerity’

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

But Cyprus Turks aren't with Erdogan. In a civil war they'd side with the military. So what does it matter what Erdogan says? You guys don't want reform, democracy and EU accession for Turkey. You want your outlaw fiefdom in the north, protected by armed killers.

We support a BBF with political equality of the 2 states as confirmed by the UN and Erdogan....but if seeing we are divided there cannot be a civil war but if there was unification then it would of course be the TA that would physically intervene not Erdogan so really I as a TC support both.

`ANKARA STANDS AT EQUAL DISTANCE FROM ALL CANDIDATES`

The Turkish Minister of State – deputy-Prime Minister Cemil Cicek has said that the Turkish Government stands at equal distance from all candidates who are to compete in the TRNC Presidential elections. Mr Cicek’s comments came in response to President Mehmet Ali Talat’s statement that Turkey’s Justice and Development Party’s policies would lose if he lost the elections.
We are standing at equal distance from all candidates. We are ready to work with the candidate to be elected by the voters`, Mr Cicek said after a meeting of the Council of Ministers yesterday.
He said `Turkey’s support is not to the individuals, but to the Turkish Cypriot People and to the policies followed there`.

The Minister also noted that Ankara is in support of a fair and lasting solution in Cyprus to be found within the framework of the United Nations parameters.

18th so two weeks to decide who wins?

who will you vote for halil? will gcs allowed to vote like tcs where allowed to vote in our elections?

I will vote for Talat. Only TC id holders can vote. To vote u should live more than six month in north. If persone has TC id but he/she was at abroad and comes back to Cyprus he can not vote. Only students at abroad can vote if they are in cyprus at voting day.

Talat has yet to officially announce that he is standing. Have you heard something from the horse's mouth?

`WITHDRAWAL OF TURKISH TROOPS ONLY IN CASE OF A SETTLEMENT`

The leader of the Democrat Party Serdar Denktas has said that the withdrawal of Turkish troops from the island could only be possible in the event of a settlement. In reference to statements made by the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan concerning the issue, the DP leader said the Turkish Premier had implied that the withdrawal of Turkish troops would not be immediate and would be phased out over a period of time.

The DP leader also called on the Greek Cypriot Side to refrain from making speculations over the issue.

In a written statement, Mr Denktas said that the questions directed at the Turkish Prime Minister by Greek Cypriot journalists during a meeting in Istanbul was clear proof as to how the Greek Cypriot leadership misinformed its own public.

Pointing out that stability had been reached on the island since the presence of Turkish Forces; the DP leader underlined the importance of Turkey’s guarantees for the Turkish cypriots.

He also pointed out that the Greek Cypriot Side needed to acknowledge the reality that there are two sovereign entities in Cyprus and that acknowledging this reality was essential in order to create a new political partnership.

A Turkish Cypriot named Neşe Yaşın even stood as a candidate, so some TCs at least showed an interest.

Official Turkish plan is BBF solution announced many times Palio.... at the moment both side talks about how they can make it and both side leaders are agreed on it at their 23rd may meeting .From Erdoğan interview we understood that Turkey also support that 23rd may agreement.Which is says

Turkey supports “whole heartedly and with sincerity” a solution based on the framework agreed between the two leaders on May 23, 2008, namely a bizonal, bicommunal federation as defined by relevant UN resolutions, with political equality and a single international identity.

what else both Turkish Cypriots and Turkey adds on this one is Quarantees of Turkey ..... Have a look what Turkey was saying at today Cyprus mail ''Turkey’s Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis has told Greek Cypriot journalists that his country would consider removing all its troops from Cyprus once a solution to the Cyprus Problem was found.

Bagis also admitted that the ongoing Cyprus Problem was an obstacle to Turkey’s EU accession.

He said that Cyprus would also benefit from Turkey’s EU accession, saying that concerns about security would disappear forever once his country joined the European family. ''

IF good will comes out from Cyprus and EU as well , Security worries of TC's will disappear as well ..... what else left out for solution Palio......

every parts have to show good will Palio.
