The...novices have ...parsnips , us ..connoisseurs have turnips coated with honey and almonds and covered in bacon ... sheer delight !!

You should slice some garlic and insert that in to the lamb as well.

Garlic goes rather well with roast lamb , usualy if I use garlic I make sure that I drink white wine since I think garlic flavour is more potent with white wine rather than red that drowns the taste , if you know what I mean...

Your combination for a roast leg of lamb is very similar to mine, but I make onion sauce and do the Yorkshire puds only with roast beef.
