It is not MY question. It is the Title of the Article.

OK ... it answers the question of the article ;)

This sort of sums up my view - both sides go on and on and on about which side murdered the most and which side suffered the most and who started the fight and who started the fight before that one and so on. This is not the language of 'resolution' or 'unity'.

There is nothing particularly difficult to answer questions like "who started it" and "which side murdered the most". The sequence of events, amount of time, and amount of casualness are all recorded in history in a way that can not be disputed.

The question is who has an interest playing this blame game? As you correctly said this blame game does not contribute in unity. So isn't it obvious that who wants to continue playing this blame game are not those who want unity but those who want the exact opposite?

And I just do not believe that GCs all treated all TCs as their equals and were kind and nice to them before 1974.

I personally never said such thing. The conflict between TCs and GCs started in the 1950s, not in 1974. After the end of Ottoman rule and before the 1950s GCs and TCs treated each other as equals.

Dunno apc. It mildly amuses me. I've even had it said to me by one GC about another that he must be from the village because he had a very big moustache! I'm still puzzled why they call each other 'Cypriot Donkey' when they want to insult!

And still don't know how they identify people as 'Greek Gypsies' either. Tho I am assured they are the worst of the worst - worse even than Roumanians I am assured.

I was surprised how racist a lot of Cypriots were when I first came to live here. I've got used to it now. They might deny it on here but it is my experience of living among them that they are very racist - not towards Brits (well probably not until my back is turned!)

Heard the 'you Brits come over here' speech a few times mind you. And seems more so since sterling went down the crapper and Brits ain't got as much dosh to splash around when they visit. Sometimes in relation to Brits who have holiday homes here and dare to leave a car parked all the rest of the year round.

I'm much more interested in people's ACTUAL experience of life - and current and up to date - not tales of 50, 100 or 500 years ago.

Some of the GCs I know who hold the strongest anti TC views are too young to have been alive in and just prior to 1974 - some of their parents in fact must have been quite young back then.

I couldn't believe that otherwise intelligent GCs, in their early twenties and with good jobs actually BELIEVED that if they crossed over to the North (now they can) they will be raped and murdered. But it has been said to me.

And just recently when I asked someone I know if they've ever actually been over there and seen it, they responded with 'why would I want to go over there to be shot at?'

Talking to the GC police at the Agios Nick Crossing a while back to get some info for antipodean visitors I was surprised to hear that none of them I was talking to had EVER been into Northern Cyprus. Even the older ones!

It is not MY question. It is the Title of the Article.

I read all sorts of stuff. Only an idiot would listen to just one side of the argument.

This sort of sums up my view - both sides go on and on and on about which side murdered the most and which side suffered the most and who started the fight and who started the fight before that one and so on. This is not the language of 'resolution' or 'unity'.

TCs and GCs will happily flog off their beloved Cyprus to any foreigner who waves enough cash at them to buy it, and live next door to them, as long as they are not a TC or a GC! They hate each other. This weakens them both and stops them moving forward. If they cannot live together both sides will suffer to some extent as a result.

And my guess is that more than a few on both sides are perfectly happy for things to continue just as they are. Whatever they say the reasons for that are.

And I just do not believe that GCs all treated all TCs as their equals and were kind and nice to them before 1974. Christ, GCs even speak with derision about their fellow GCs if they 'come from the villages'. That seems to sum up all stupid or thick behaviour (or even a worse than average driver) 'he's from the villages'. And you expect people to believe you treated TCs better than that lol!

I have one neighbour who lives in Nicosia and spends holidays and odd weekends in Larnaca. She sees herself as being 'above' GCs who live in Larnaca - even told me Cypriots who work in Nicosia 'work harder' than Cyps who work elsewhere (that's why she needs the rest at weekends apparently - being such a hard working Nicosia person) and I ain't kidding and she IS serious about this lol!

Are you implying that our Oracleos is an idiot. I think you'll find she will have a few words to say to that.

No I've never implied your 'Oracleos' is an idiot. She has not just implied, but actually stated that about me several times though!

In fact I have been assured by PMs (and I'd bloody cringe if I thought PMs like this were circulating about me) that she is, in fact, quite intelligent so not to be too harsh on her. She apparently has 'serious issues' or 'has changed'? Not a blerdy clue. And not a bloody care either!

My view of her is a raving foaming at the mouth GC fanatic who detests all things TC and Turkish and hates to even see the words in type on a monitor screen unless they are included in a filthy insult about them!

I do detest her childish attention seeking style of multi coloured varying font size over punctuated postings. Especially when she is 'quoting'. If all her colouring in and screaming for attention was not in the original post - she should not alter the original and then post it as a 'quote'. It can have the effect of making a quite mild mannered posting look as if it was typed by someone who was incensed and outraged when they were nothing of the sort.

But I realise it is very important to her to be able to make one post take up about 6 screens by enlarging font, bolding, underlining, spacing out, adding a zillion outraged apostrophes and 4 different font colours - because she has made that quite clear!

I bet she sends lovely home made greeting cards.

You are mistaken. How can an scientifically educated person believe in creationism and not believe in Darwinism. Only an absolute idiot would hold these views. Conclusive proof I think?

Many continued to speak Greek until recently and many Turkish Cypriots will admit to you that their grandmother or somebody in their family was Greek Cypriot. Greek Cypriots who did not convert resented their privilege but especially the newly converted Cypriots that they turned their back on their culture. Can you imagine if your brother or sister were born in one culture but then jumped on the band wagon to another (invading) culture to enjoy privileges? This is similar to the way Croats split from the Serbs. Genetically it is almost impossible to tell them apart.

A simple IQ test between the two groups would easily turn your DNA theory on its head…

So what would you expect the result of the IQ test to show?

That the Chirokittens are the local yokles? With one arm, one eye and a nose on the side of the face, due to the inbreeding?

Hey Gasman how would you feel if your home land was invaded and you were evicted from your property because of your ethnic back ground would'nt you be full of hate for the occupying army. Many GC's lost their homes loved ones and many of the women were raped by the TA.

Come on wanker tell me how you would feel?

Lets just say you lost your house your daughter was raped along with your wife and your son was murdered how would you feel? Would you have nice things to say about the occupation force?
