Michael Katsidis retains World Champion status by KOing opponent.
Yet another example of how immigrant 'wogs' made Anglo Saxon civilizations great.
But of course credit goes to Australia.
ENGLISH STAR BLOWN AWAY BY BLIZZARD OF OZ AT UPTON PARK
Kevin Mitchell took a three-round hammering against super Aussie Michael Katsidis at Upton Park.
The Dagenham boy, nicknamed "The Hammer" couldn't withstand the brutal attacks of the man known as "The Warrior".
As if he knew he was taking on a fiercely-partisan crowd, as well as the emerging boxing talent of Mitchell, Katsidis stormed onto the attack from the first bell.
And midway through the third unleashed the flurry of punches, including a p owerful left-hook to Mitchell's chin, that forced the stoppage and ensured the visitor was crowned WBO interim lightweight champion.
Mitchell could have no complaints about this defeat but the 25 year-old Essex boy insisted: "I can come back from this. I'll be back after the summer.
"I've been in with big punchers before but I was lured onto a punch, made a mistake and paid the price. It was a great left hook he hit me with."
There were 30,000 fight fans - including Chelsea's FA Cup winner Joe Cole - inside West Ham's home ground willing Mitchell to victory.
In the end they sportingly saluted the victor and had the Aussie hoping he can return for another stadium spectacular. Katsidis said: "I've spent three months in Thailand preparing for this fight.
"I feel I'm in the best shape of my life and I'd love to have 30,000 people like this supporting me in future fights."
Katsidis judged his fight tempo impeccably. He must have been aware that Mitchell was unbeaten in 31 fights.
But Katsidis was from a class apart - and it showed. Before the first bell the fighters were stomping with anticipation, desperate to lay gloves on each other.

The first round ended with Katsidis literally chasing Mitchell around the ring in a flat out assault.
Mitchell had to show he was a smart counterpuncher to keep the Aussie at bay.
And the second round developed into a thrilling feast of strike and counterpunch between the well-matched duo. Mitchell could not allow himself to be caught on the ropes as Katsidis showed his ability to unleash a flurry of punches.
That was a vital lesson. In the next round he appeared to have forgotten it.
He was trapped as Katsidis pounded him with short, sharp shots including the vicious left hook that sparked his downfall.
Earlier, Danny Williams lost his British heavyweight title inside two rounds against Derek Chisora.
The challenger had 36 year-old Williams wobbling with a right uppercut and floored him twice before the fight was stopped.
Williams had promised this would be his last fight in the build up to the bout.
Last night's events mu s t surely ensure he fulfils that promise.
