As per my previous note, when you travel on the buses from Port Said to Cairo therer are armed guards on the coaches and army escort vehicles to watch over the convoy.

Enjoy Cyprus instead its a great place.

I visited Cyprus 6 years ago and had a good time. Hired a car and saw most of the sites, my wife hasnt been before so the plan was to do the 2 day trip to Egypt and the next time we came we would hire a car and would revisit Troodos, Kourion etc. Looks like will be doing that in reverse order but having already seen the splendour of these places I know we wont be disappointed. Never stayed in Paphos before but I recall it seemed a nice place when I briefly visited in 98.
We are both looking forward coming over on 31st August
