Are you walking away from the talks then ????

TRNC Parliament :Yes to talks !

A motion tabled by the Democrat Party at the TRNC Parliament’s legal and political affairs committee for the suspension of the ongoing negotiations with the start of the election restrictions was rejected by a majority in parliament. Only the Democrat Party voted in favor of the motion.

Addressing parliament yesterday, the leader of the Democrat Party Serdar Denktas argued that there was nothing left to negotiate following the adoption of the resolution on guarantor rights by the Greek Cypriot Administration.

Pointing out that the Turkish Cypriots received blow after blow with the ruling on the Orams Case being one of these, the DP leader said it was out of the question to accept the removal of Turkey’s effective and active guarantees.

Ferdi Sabit Soyer, the leader of the main opposition Republican Turkish Party which rejected the motion, said that the Democrat Party’s proposal was not realistic and would damage the ongoing negotiations process.
Also speaking, the Secretary General of the National Unity Party said that the resolution was an example of the Greek Cypriot Side’s insincerity in the talks.

The UBP rejected the proposal on the grounds that there was no unanimity on the issue.
The leader of the opposition Social Democracy Party Mehmet Cakici for his part said that the resolution adopted by the Greek Cypriot parliament was in violation of international law.
He however added that it was essential to continue negotiating and to reach an urgent solution to the Cyprus Problem.

For his part, the leader of the Freedom and Reform Party Turgay Avci said that the Greek Cypriot Side had aimed to get the Turkish Side to walk away from the negotiating table with its resolution.
He said that it would not be right to withdraw from the table under the current conditions.

You are wrong yet again take away that you claim to represent us and you have no recognition with all the benefits you have exploited for over 50 years, think about it if you had the balls and the option of telling the world you do not represent us we would be reconized overnight thats why your hands are tied.

As for your stupid numbers game tell that to those who swallow your bullshit we are partners not just another minority at your mercy we Will continue to Argue and stand our ground for what we know are our rights.

londoner wrote:Correct me if I am wrong but the Treaty of Guarantee was part of the 1960 constitution which still exists does it not

The teaty of guarantee called upon the three guarantor powers to respect and protect the independence and territorial integrity of the RoC .
Do you think than maybe it has been violated and therefore in legal terms rendered null and void ..
One of the Guarantor powers invaded and occupied a large part of Cyprus subsequentltly declaring this occupied part as a separate nation from that which this guarantor power had signed to protect.

No law becomes void if someone violates it.

I was reffering to the stature of guarantors not the law , a contract if you like that one party defaults , the contract can not be enforced by the party that caused the default of the said contract .

Agree with our Beloved Pappou on this.

We ain't talking "laws" , we're talking about a Contractural Agreement, where one party to the agreement starts a coup, another uses that as a pretext to invade and occupy, and the third party stands idly by twiddling thumbs.

Agreement therefore Null and Void.

I agree with that, but on the other hand there was no clause in the agreement with an alternative in case a violation by one or more of the parties took place. And that's what causes the continuation of the problem.
