But then recently I've started watching Qi and he comes over rather well...

And then this evening, I watched this speech!

He is now my hero.... Image

Silly me. I thought it was joke link which wouldn't open, just to make one feel stupid.

Now I realise my PC has been playing up and he really is giving a speech.

DUH!

Never been a fan of his either BUT clicked the link out of curiousity  I,m not a huge fan of religion though I don,t entirely dismiss it, but spent quite a few years living in a town in the UK which was Catholic dominated. My parents owned a shop a wholesale newsagents/tobacconists that sold lots of items including gold pens and lighters etc. I never failed to be shocked at poor families coming in and spending a weeks wages on gifts for the 'fathers' who glady took it  And then to be short all week. Much much more went on that we heard about. One of the reasons I became very sceptical of the catholic church, eventually any church/religion, these guys were the first to arouse my suspicion at then only 16 yrs old.

My first husband was born a RC and when we decided to get married it was gently put to me that it would have to be in an RC church AND I would have to convert. The answer was a loud no and arrangements were made in a non-denominational church. But the previous Mr Milo long gone now was chased by the 'fathers' for months to get him to get me to conform or give me up. I was the women of course men do no wrong in the RC church.

Great speech I was transfixed, very honest and I noted some squirming at his words. That bloody Anne thingycombe oh how come she is a women lets us down badly....

Pope coming to Cyprus in June is,nt he? Mans a idiot imo.

I disliked SF but recently bought the Jeeves and Wooster DVD set (I enjoy classic period British humour - the concept of an 'arristocracy' fascinates me) and thought he was excellent!

Changed my opinion.

I went off the man when he threw a gay strop a few years ago...

Recently I've enjoyed watching him on Qi though and was absolutely staggered by the speech....

And of course as Lana has reminded me, Jeeves and Wooster was excellent too...
