The biggest problem with the Turk cyps is that they know they are at a big disadvantage due to the 36 year occupation army that they have allowed to invade their country....its not about a guarantee but rather they want leverage against the Gc, because they know the Gc could buy them out after any solution....They know that they are at an economic disadvantage, and rightly so, theyve been restricted due to the Turkish army....Continualtion of the Treaty of Guarantee assures them of whatever they want from the GC..
