If no solution is found... what's next?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

If negotiations fail and the TRNC starts to gain recognition from other countries is that good news or bad news?

Its impossible news.

Impossible how so? Do you trust the USA that much!

Nope, but I trust international law locking countries into place… it’s a bit like rust, once you get locked in there’s no getting out!

And not to mention that you don’t even have the SLIGHTEST incentive to entice the few UN renegades!

You’ve got better chances playing Lotto… 8)

I think the odds are better than the lotto. Bangladesh broke off from Pakistan but gained recognition. Kosovo's UDI was rejected by ROC but has gained recognition. Paraguay, Azebaijan and Gambia have recently announced their wilingness to formally recognise the TRNC. So never say never - solution is the best possible outcome and recognition would be a disaster but that's where we are heading

Your oversimplification and confusion over what happened to Bangladesh and Kosovo, is not going to help you because you've got one these...

UN RESOLUTION 541 (1983)
http://www.un.int/cyprus/scr541.htm

Paraguay, Azebaijan and Gambia have recently announced their wilingness to formally recognise the TRNC.

Rubbish!

So never say never - solution is the best possible outcome and recognition would be a disaster but that's where we are heading

Dude, you’re just wasting your time… you can’t even afford to feed yourselves and you want recognition? You expect the UN to violate the territorial integrity of a legitimate and prosperous EU country for the sake of a useless starving Turkish ghetto?

Get Real you are the confused one, you cannot put a link to the UN resolution and ignore the bits you do not like, suchas the part that talks about the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee. History reveals numerous UN resolutions which are ignored.

I tell it like it is but it’s not pleasing to your ears… more than anything, Turkish Cypriots need to confront reality!

Someone who relies on handouts doesn’t get recognition but a wakeup call!

Get Real I would like to live in your world where everything is black or white and the answers are so simple. How did we get into this mess if things are so simple

If the UN is ignored and thus unimportant, then why do you seek recognition from them? Or maybe you were looking for recognition from outer space…

You miss the point again, whether the UN recognises or not is not the issue, if sovereign states recognise and ignore the UN resolution then the UN are powerless to do again. Was there not a UN resolution against Israel having nukes!

:? None that I can remember... they'd have to prove there are nukes first! You may be thinking of 1967 resolutions for Israel to withdraw to specific borders.

But don't confuse nuclear issues with territorial issues... different bodies different laws etc.
