If no solution is found... what's next?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby B25 » Wed Feb 24, 2010 4:40 pm

You should just ignore the arrogant plonker.

We owe you nothing, you are an unwelcome invader, yet you expect US to compromise to you??

My god, what slefish, stuck piece of shit you are.

Heres a compromise, you all bugger of and the RoC will pay for your boat trips back to anatolia, hows that.

Bloody cheek.

This guy is a clown , a friggin settler, telling us how to run our own house!

How about you telling us what compromises the TC's and the Turks made up untill now and then I will do the same for the GC side 8)

You are asking us to make a huge HUGE compromise and give up our right to Guarentee. That is massive even for liberal TCs.

if you want that MASSIVE compromise which maybe akin to GC recognising the the TRNC then what compromises will you give to attain it?

I have given my view on what I think it would take for the for the TCs to make this MASSIVE compromise, so what are you offering, but remember it better be good because it is (in case I have not mentioned it) MASSIVE for us.

Let me get this straight, apart from demilitarisation... if we PAY for the tc's abroad to come back and PAY for your economy to catch up to ours, you'll feel safer and won't need guarantees?

Exactly what kind of anatolian bazzar are we setting up here?

DT.....don't forget....they get to keep the properties the stole and the their properties in the south also.....otherwise is't a NO deal

thats one hell of a negotiation

We need to compromise....otherwise the'll never trust us

Look, if you REALLY want to earn their trust we’ll all have to abandon Cyprus altogether and preferably leave all cash and the women behind!

Read the question again and give me an answer please! What compromises have you (TC's and Turks) made up untill now?

Is this good news or bad news?

Any predictions for the future of the island?

After reading 12 pages of comments my humble opinion is this:

1. The collapse of the talks is bad news, especially for the TC side. Their misery will continue despite Turkey's assistance. The occupying Turkish troops will stay to safeguard the poor population in the north. After 36 years, the TC side realized that this situation is a big mistake. The TC side realized that they would be better off under the EU umbrella instead of the Turkey umbrella. The TC side want a better life for themselves, that's why they are talking to us... they want out but afraid to admit it, claiming security reasons.
2. I don't see why the TC side worries so much about security. I am convinced the GC side is not planning another attack when the Turkish troops leave. What gains can we possibly have if we attack the TC?
3. 10 years from today, Turkey may initiate new talks to solve the Cyprus problem, only to meet the EU deadline, not because Turkey wants the TC side to have a better life. Face it, The Cyprus problem is "small potatoes" for Turkey right now. Simply put, Turkey is facing big problems and chose to put aside the Cyprus issue.
4. The GC side would prefer a solution based on UN resolutions. Anything short of that would be a painful compromise. Definately, if things stay as they are, is not considered a "success", but a setback. We all know how important is the solution... the clock is ticking... no solution is negative.

The ball is on the TC side of the court. How are they going to play it?

No you are the risk thats why guaratees are necessary you are not to be trusted

VP, the only guarantees and securities you will ever need to be safe in Cyprus from the revenge seeking GCs, is to have a Swiss girlfriend to protect you. It worked for me when I went to the RoC couple of years ago, therefore it is "bullet proof" to work for you and for all TCs. I'm sure both you and Bir will attest to the above suggestion as being very real.!

Now you are talking!!!
I will go along with your suggestion,Kikapu,if you guarantee every TC a Swiss girl/boyfriend!! No,your guarantee will not be good enough,I want the EU and the UN to guarantee every TC a personal Swiss bodyguard of the opposite sex!!! I knew we would get there if we talked long enough....

I demand 7 ladies preferably virgins to comply with my religious beliefs and to prepare me for the 72 coming.
