YFred, I honestly don't want to get into an argument with you because you have very strong, inflexible ideas and it will degenerate into an argument- you don't want to see a middle ground. Don't take it the wrong way, there's 'GC' forum members of the same style. Sorry dude. All I was saying is that red line should have been traced out earlier, and as far as the RoC is concerned, it wasnt a red line 60 yrs ago because we werent mature enough as a country to let go of Greece's apron strings and we hadn't been invaded by the Turkish army. Again, don't jump down my throat- whether it was right or wrong is irrelevant to what I'm trying to say, but the fact is 99.9 % of GC would not want Turkey to have the right to unilateral intervention in any solution.

But re liontari who fed the guns to EOKA and TMT?? ... the guarantor states :!: :!: this is the whole argument we are making about no guarantors....

america helped turkey a lot to invade and they gave them the weapons, they are not a garantore power as you know

I believe courts in the US will soon be examining how these US weapons were used by Turkey. It's likely to be a hugely costly affair for Turkey.

i think they gave turkey the weapons to use for that but not officially as they could not.

when we re unite the tcs will enjoy the eu benefits .. as they do now anyway they just come and take id cards and passports with no problems. your dreaming if you think that will happen

without a solution im willing to fight my corner for recognition as long as it takes we are here for the long haul.

I thought Turkey , your motherland , is already recognized !

Like in the UK, US judicial and executive powers are separate and the latter cannot interfere with the former.

Okay let the t/c have turkish gurantteroship but what kind?

I f the T/C COMMUNITY is threatened with genocide and blah blah then turkey has a right to intervene for extraction.THE t/c community will be extracted and brought to turkey for their protection.

Very funny. I have a better idea. A GC fires a single shot into the north and Turkey can take the whole of cyprus.
Hows that for a counter proposal?
That will make sure you will make sure not a single bullet will be fired.
