So who said the Orams case was a waste, anyone with half a brain would not buy anything different.

Just watch those prices, there you go VP/Yred now you can get mega bucks for your properties.

Pre-74 Turkish title has always been for sale and at a premium ever since I started coming to TRNC (10 years).
Nothing new there.

Yep at twice the price.

Not that much. About 30%-40% premium. It has been scarce for some time now.

You are probaply right, it sounds better with my figures. It was about 10 years ago and I must admit, I did not look at any GC properties at all at the time.

Silverash has a good point there.

And pre 74 Turkish Title has always been for sale. It is the vast difference in cost between that and the mickey mouse titles that should have sounded warning bells for ALL purchasers, whether they'd taken previous advice or not.

I don't see pre 74 Turkish Title property going for £17K, but did see a luxury Medview apartment with pool and all furnishings and fittings going for that much!

Hell - what do they expect to get for that? If it is a nice new usable property - there JUST HAS TO BE some other 'problem' associated with it. No such thing as a free lunch.

Therefore that would make Pushdaddy a motherfucker liar then, as he claims to own pre '74 Turkish land.

He is no TC otherwise he would have said and not have to justify what he owns.

Come on Pushdaddy, are you telling Porkies again

You have been busted my old china mug.

It is only recently that permission to purchase has become difficult to get on pre-74 Turkish property. I'm not sure it is the case that you can't, it's more like it takes forever. Even exchange property can take 4-5 years to get PTP.

As vaughnwilliams has said, it is recent changes that have made the ptp for pukka title difficult if not impossible! Then there's the being unable to own anything anywhere near military zones etc. (I don't see much over there that ain't near a military zone!)

I would not say that proper title is 'twice the price', rather that mickey mouse title is 'half the price'. That's been the carrot for a lot of the 'purchasers'.

Never forget there are many ex pat Brits who purchased in the RoC many years ago and who still haven't got their deeds. Or whose 'developers/management' companies are holding them to ransom if they want them (insisting on all their expenses being paid by the purchasers etc) or who have remortgaged the land before passing on the deeds to those who have paid.

It would certainly not harm the RoC to clean up their act in regard to all the property they've sold to 'foreigners' here - noises are being made now but not much action taking place. Too many years of just being told 'that's how it is in Cyprus' or 'that's the Cyprus way - nothing to worry about - it is quite normal'.

If you haven't got the title deeds to what you paid for - you haven't got them - for WHATEVER reason!

I'd be interested to know what current values are or what stuff has been selling for even in this rubbish market. I bought a Pre-74 title two-storey old house on half a donum, corner plot, Upper Kyrenia, for £32K Sterling in 2001. I'm probably best to sit on it but I didn't have two small children costing the earth back then! I've never had it valued and probably wouldn't trust an estate agent whatever they said, so any anecdotal evidence is welcome.

Has it been modernised yet or is it still the old Cypriot room layout. What about plumbing/electrics?
