Smoking complain

Postby janea » Mon Feb 22, 2010 10:59 am

Does anyone knows where we can complain if we see smokers in public places ( my case- in a bar, all smokers go out to smoke but 1-2 guys doesnt cares and smoke inside- not fair ...) need to call to police or there is some organization dealing with that?

Why not start by having a friendly word with the bar owner?

Disgusting smokers are Untermensch - they have no rights, they are subhuman and you would be well within your rights to merely exterminate them for polluting your precious air...

Or alternately you could go to one of the other establishments that doesn't have this problem...?

Christ, what has the country come to...? :x

Well my point is this. If no one complains to the bar owner that his customers and/or him are breaking the law etc. - how is he to know that anyone objects?

But if it were me - I would definitely take cyprusgrump's advice and seek out an establishment where they are cheerfully upholding the ban.

God knows there are enough establishments in Cyprus at the moment that look desperate for custom and customers to choose from.

Surely you'd feel more comfortable among 'like minded' people?

Reminds me of when they had smoking and no smoking carriages on trains. And a non smoker would ignore all the empty non smoking carriages to get into the one with a smoker or smokers sat in it and immediately start complaining that it was a non smoking carriage!

Depends whether they are more concerned with their own comfort and surroundings or prepared to make themselves feel bad and uncomfortable in preferring to crusade to ensure that the 'laws are upheld'.

I recently had to call the Fire Brigade out to rescue two souls trapped in a lift.

They arrived very quickly (within a few minutes) and all three of these handsome Cypriots alit from the Fire Engine smoking a cigarette!

Too simple!

As would be moving to another part of the bar away from the smokers...

...as would be going to another bar.

Far better to get the owner a hefty fine which might result in him having to close down. Then nobody can drink there...

You are asking where you can complain.

Well, if it is the 'law' in Cyprus that is being broken (as it is in the UK with the no smoking law) then I suppose you could complain to the Police?

I've no doubt the police will tell the owner who it was that complained about them! as you say '(u know hows in cyprus is)
