I'm all ears...

strategic position

Tell me a country that isn't in a "strategic position"!

economic strength

Expand on this... I need a good laugh.

You seem to know nothing about the importance of Turkey in respect of military strength, strategic position, economic strength and political importance in the Balkans, the Middle East and the Caucasses. Watch the economic strenth of Turkey and the downward slide of EU economy. Compare the aging population of Europe and the young dynamic population of Turkey but are you in a position to make the right evaluations? I doubt it.

First, its EU accession would be severed; and, secondly it would suffer some extra punitive measure such as a direct attack on its economy or constitution ...

in the same token when push comes to shove russia has a lot more on offer...

either turkey conforms to the eu or she will not only see the back of the eu but will see an eu foot up her backside as well...

...i think turkey is getting a little bit of its own medicine. signing a protocol with the eu and ignoring their commitment, they are in no position to demand a deadline for negotiations in cyprus.

...it is turkey that must westernise to keep its Kemalist dream alive. this deadline only serves to balkanise the deep state, however the debate it will cause strengthens the cause of democratic forces who seek to end the stagnation that turkey suffers from this influence.

Why should they move out when nothing has been solved or agreed? this will only happen when both sides commit themselves 100% not before it would only lead to caos and catastrophy.

EU resolutions and recommendations, NATO resolutions and recommendations. When did they ever make any big difference to any world problems?
